I really like my '13 991S PDK- looks, performance, reliability, but at the same time I can see myself in a new GT3. My track record w/keeping cars recently (OK forever) sucks & of course gets expensive.
Been going back & forth with should I or shouldn't I?
I do have my name on list for the RS, but reality is that $200K is beyond my comfort zone for a toy & will
more than likely give it up. I have another expensive hobby & a Wife.
Dealer wants approx $70K difference OTD+ my car on a $150K '15 build. I'm like - this can't be right?
OK, so do I do the GT3 Elephant suspension mod for $8K installed (no rear wheel steering of course), a GIAC tune + headers & exhaust, some aftermarket wheels & tires & misc? So now I'm at $25K total. None of which adds one dime to the value of my car, but I get pretty darn close to GT3 performance (if not more maybe) and the car still looks great - not a GT3 though.
In the past ,after moving from one NSX (5) to the next, I've never taken the value (%) beating/depreciation that I seem to be getting w/Porsche. Sure the GT3 holds value better (for now anyway), but still $70K on top of the big original purchase number on my car w/tax etc... $70K more just doesn't feel right.
BTW, 2nd 911.....1st was a new 2000 996 POS!

That would be a tough hit to take. I don't know that I could hold onto my ankles long enough for that deal.
