The maybe not most accurate bathroom scale showed the Forgeline rear with 325/30x19 Cup2's to weigh @ 47 to 48lbs vs. an almost new set of 305/30x20 Cup2's on OEM rims at 56-57lbs, so
as savings of @ 12 to 13 lbs per corner front, and @ 10 to 11lbs per corner rear.
Wow! That is quite a difference in unsprung weight! Did you weigh the Forgelines w/o tires? According to the Tire Rack specs for the MPSC2s, the 235/40-19 tire weighs only 1 pound less than the 245/35-20 (22 lbs. vs. 23 lbs.) and the 325/30-19 weighs the same as the 305/30x20 @ 31 lbs. each. I'm having trouble imagining that the 10-13 lb. differences per corner you measured was almost solely in the rim weight! Back in April you posted that the OEM GT3 wheels weighed 24 lbs. (front) and 26.5 lbs. (rear). There were different scales involved in the two cases it seems, but it doesn't seem possible that the Forgelines are 10 lbs. lighter per wheel-- that would put them in the 14-16 lbs. range! Something is off here, either in the scales or the Tire Rack specs or both...

I'm confused,
TT

I'm confused, TT

As probably am I, plus dazed too. One key difference however, is remember the weights were/are comparing 19" wheel barrels to the OEM 20" rims. Between 19 vs. 20" rims+tires, . . . . "Honey, do these rims make my head look fat?"

Unfortunately, I don't have those 19" rims around anymore to try to check and see what I got or may have got wrong with the scales - the 19" were swapped back to Forgeline for a set of Foregeline's 20" to simplify tire fitment matters, and for peace of mind vis-a-vis lingering PCCB & possible rear wheel steering clearance questions.

More fortunately the new 20" Forgelines are still sitting, naked in their shipping boxes and I'll see if I can't find some time to take them over to the UPS digital shipping scale for a weigh-in - although I'd suspect by now Forgeline may have a published weight for the 991GT3 20" fitments on their website.

I have been browsing their website in the Porsche CL section and can't find any weight information at all, thus my interest in your measurements (and resulting confusion). Looking forward to hearing what you find with the 20's, if you have time to weigh them.

Thx,
TT

Found these numbers this morning posted by Alan C. in the GE1R thread:

20x12 - 22.5 lbs
Not sure how they were weighed or by whom, but most of the Forgeline monobloc wheels are probably close to this, I imagine?

Finally unpacked the replacement 20" rims, and took them over to the local, friendly FedEx office to weigh.

According to FedEx's digital scale, which is supposed to measure down to nearest 1/10th, the 20" Forgeline 991GT3 centerlocks come in at:

@ 21.7lbs front; and at
@ 24.5lbs for the 20x12" rears.

HTH someone. Happy Holidays, mlp

The following is for the Forgeline GA1. Is that correct?
