Default Thoughts on 4-way seats

I have the opportunity to pick up a 2015 GT3 but it has the 4-way seats, as i intend to take this to the track i would appreciate any feedback on people's experience with these seats.

I have the 18 way seats but I'll answer because the seats themselves are identical to the 4 way so it might give you some perspective. I've done several autocrosses with the GT3. Coming from the GT2 buckets and harness in my previous car I expected to be disappointed, but the 18 way do a good job of holding me in place so I'm not having to brace with my knees or elbows.

That said, if I was doing more than a handful of actual track days a year I'd want a harness and neither the 4 or 18 way seats are safe to use with one.

I ordered 4way seats (LWBs not available at the time mine was built) with the intent to replace with gt2 buckets or aftermarket. For the street the 4 ways are better than I expected. Reasonably good support and ok for trips. I did 1000mi over thanksgiving and they were fine. Agree that for a few DEs a year they would be ok. I still plan to replace them in the future to be able to set up 6pt harnesses.

I had 4 way in my C2S and got them again in my GT3. I love them. I wouldn't know what to do with all of those buttons on the 18 way seats.

If you don't plan on running a HANs and harness, 4 way actually isn't too bad in terms of support for track use. I ran a GT3 with 3 point belts and 18 way seats at dream racing, and was pleasantly surprised with the support.

I had GT2 Buckets in my .2 GT3. I went with 4 ways in the new car and am very happy with them. For track I'll use a dedicated seat, harness, Hans and bar.

I have the 4 way currently and have been super impressed with their comfort and support. If I wasn't intending to track regularly there is no doubt these are ample for some light duty events. I plan on using a harness and HANS with my '15 hence I ordered buckets.
