Default What would you do if no RS?

After enjoying my 50th for a summer I have pushed myself to a place where I can get a 991 RS. But after going through the RS shenanigans of 2007, 2008, with the $100K markups (which I could do now but WONT). I remember waiting with a friend who waited for his 2007 RS to find his receipt lost and refunded his 10,000 deposit and kicked to the curb. He has taken such a step out of his financial security it endedup costing him his marriage and many other thing on the stupidity of the games the dealers play.
SO here I am flush with cash and read to buy a RS and I can be frozen out.
If this happends ton me where my deposit get lost or I dont even get on a list,
what would you do if you were me??After one TUrbo, two GT3, and two 911 PDKS including the 50th now I can stand up and take a grap at the golded grail but dealers are going to get the most then can knowing if they sell 200 Macans to make up for this one GT3 RS Guy they torched
SO you know one of your close friends got hosed.
I am in the position that I dont want to play the game Even getting a deposit down to have it thrown away. I am thinking of going Ferrari 458 or 599 or someother ferrari cars that are out there. Porshce wants to change us from driving 6 911s over the course of our lives to dumping us in the toilet.
what are some other cars you would consider driving in place of getting screwed by PCNA!!!!

thoughts?

1. ferrari does the same game. 458 is just a GT3, pretty easy to get. RS is like a speciale. short of you being god, it's not that easy to get at msrp.

2. a dealer cannot lose your deposit. and even if you lose your receipt. you have bk stmts if you cut a chk you have credit card stmt if you used card. there are records, everything has records. if a dealer said they LOST your deposit, i will sue the dk off. you can be sure of that. and forget law suit, a FB and twitter post gone wild will destroy them. no dealer is that stupid.

I can't imagine driving a 458 on the roads around Mammoth would put a frown on my face.

If no RS, I would most likely go with the coming Viper ACR which is rumored to have 770HP and a manual. I miss my C6 Z06 and I wish I didn't sell it. If I can buy it back i would. That thing was a monster around the track.

I want a reliable weekend/track car. C7 Z06 was on my radar but with all the problems its having, I would most likely get me a 3rd year Z06. That is the time usually GM iron out all the problems.

Hopefully I get the RS which would be the most reliable of the bunch and my dealer honor the agreement between us as I do have a copy of it as well. I paid $15k for the allocation if that matters.

you wont get a RS...there is a possibility that all the 991RS go to 918 owners. Welcome to the world of VW exclusive.

The 599GTB and the McLaren 12C are both great buys right now depending on your style. I think I am with Serge and would get the 12C...beastly car.

Wouldn't get anything....I would just start posting about future GT cars I know nothing about and the fact that I have deposits for them all and dealer guaranteed me one of each!!!!!! If not this just wouldn't be any fun ha ha

I've been toying with the idea of a 650S for a few months. Of course, I don't even know what I'll own if I get an RS. I might get 2 RSs and trade the GT3 in, I have a #1 GT4 slot as well, but not sure what it'll look like and current rumour is uninteresting.

I think the 650S is going to be available at big discounts, my local dealer is sitting on a bunch of inventory.

Yes it is popular. Vettes and Viper feels raw compared to German or Italian cars. Sometimes its nice to switch between the two.

I might still go for the ACR next to the RS because of the manual transmission and brutish character.

There will be enough RS to go around, I am almost sure. Maybe not in the beginning with all the nuts going crazy about it, but Porsche wants to make money. They will make cars to sell, or you can buy a 2nd hand RS after a doctor who bought one thought it was the thing to have because of a cool picture online but they can't live with a race car everyday. This is the perfect example of the guy who should've bought a Turbo first. It happens all the time...

Another idea is do business witha good dealer. Brunos right now is not taking deposits, but they sell up to 40 regulars GT3s this year alone, so you do the math. Stay away from your local dealer if they have questionable business ethics.
