I'm a diehard Porsche person, though I own 3, it seems to be hard to beat them as an overall package at the moment.

I have a couple of big Ferrari buddies who sold back their 458 Speciales after six months over ownership. They didn't think they were that Special vs a regular 458.
Not that special?? Comeon!! It makes the regular 458 seem like yesterday's news! It's the absolute zenith of na motor achievement, it's basically won every comparison test out there unless price was factored in, it's EVOs favorite Supercar, it is EVO car of the year for 2014(and unanimously so which is the first time in Evo mag history), it is voted as Britains Top Drivers Car, it's Top Gears Sexiest Car for 2014 ........ And on and on........You can't get much more Special than that!!! Maybe your big Ferrari buds didn't think the pose factor was sufficiently enhanced over the 458 and they could sell at a hefty premium over what they paid for it!!!???!!!

Lol, just their opinion. I had the conversation with them on it as I had the opportunity to pick one up at MSRP. They sell them back to the dealers they buy them off at MSRP - it's how they maintain allocations on new models.

This seems to be one of the cheaper ones and it's in Manhattan. I don't think we'll see any at 300k for a while.

Oh, they often ask that much, but you can find them for less. Giddyup!

If no GT3RS?
I've already made my move to a Crawford Wing <www.crawfordcomposites.com>
A modest investment of under $3,000 gives me most of the RS Performance, and much of the look.
And it's a great Road Car to boot, likely far more comfortable on long trips than the RS will be.
Now I don't mind waiting and can stop losing sleep worrying if I will get my RS or not and when.
If mine never makes it, I can take solace in all the money I've saved and be very happy with my Super performing GT3.

After extended thinking, I am strongly considering a 997 Cup. Can't have both cars, won't make much sense. So, I am actually hoping they don't offer me an RS at MSRP (I'm supposed to be quite high on the list and am promised a car).
