What would you do if no RS?

Looks good already in its camouflage. If it is going to be just a detuned 650S at a great discount it will be worthy to take a long look. Some one will be able to remap the ECU and it just might be the deal of the century

If I don't get my RS allocation I will keep my GT3 build arriving in January and be happy. I am 2 on the list and not dealing with a sales guy...rather the GM. He doesn't even want any money down as he respects our relationship. I trust him to come through as long as his dealership gets allocated at least two cars.

I'd go with a 991 GT3 or the upcoming GT4. The 991 GT3 is a pretty freaking amazing car. I've only had mine for a week, but I'm really amazed at how good it is.
Re the GT4, I assume it will be good as well. I've driven a Spec Boxster (on track) and a '14 Boxster S (on the street) and both are a hoot to drive. They just need a little more power. The GT4 should take care of that.

I would like to drive a 458 Speciale to see how it compares to Ferraris from say 5 years ago. But I can't say whether or not I'd consider adding it without driving it first.

I'd probably add a Cup at that point. But I'm kind of biased toward Porsche. I've driven just about every other brand (except a McLaren for some reason) and I just like the overall Porsche package much better than other makes.

I have a couple of big Ferrari buddies who sold back their 458 Speciales after six months over ownership. They didn't think they were that Special vs a regular 458.

For me there really is no substitute! Not that I'm in a position to buy a special or 650s or an RS. The drive of a 911 is like no other. No matter what flavor, Carrera, Turbo or GT3. The quirkiness is the soul and personality of the car. Engine in the rear? Crazy! Not to me. I haven't driven a La Ferrari or P1 but I bet their very different from a 911. So they are all beautiful cars that I love to look at but I'll keep my GT3 as a toy and my 996 as a DD. IMHO!

I would find a dealer with a low list of deposits and give them a deposit.
I would then wait them to call me for the options I want when they are ready. Then I would drive my 991 50th until the RS arrives...

Pffft. That's easy. Group B Rally Car.
Before you laugh:
Most 0-60 mph <2.0 secs on gravel
Collectible
Incredible handling 4wds
Street legal
Make 991RS and Fiat Speciales sound like a Prius
The original 'Launch Control' ECU's with nice landing gear!
By the way, that is Walter Rohrl in the beginning of the movie clip and here he is in an Audio Quattro:

They will make cars to sell, or you can buy a 2nd hand RS after a doctor who bought one thought it was the thing to have because of a cool picture online but they can't live with a race car everyday. This is the perfect example of the guy who should've bought a Turbo first. It happens all the time...
