2016 GT3 RS Allocation secured

2016 GT3 RS Allocation secured
I was on the fence between 991 GT3, C7 Z06, Viper TA 2.0 or wait until more info is out on the 991.2 GT3 RS. I wanted a weekend/track car that is reliable and can run long sessions on tracks such as Yas Marina or Bahrain F1 tracks.
After seeing the disastrous heat soaking power sapping C7 Z06 I dropped it from the list even though it was up there for me with the RS. Then I heard that the viper is getting a SC'd 770HP so that will most likely face heating issues after long laps so the jury is still out until i see it tested properly. 991 GT3 was always on the roster, but not sure about getting an MK1 now. Today after seeing the pictures of the GT3 RS I had to go to the dealer.
I was told there are only 7 allocation for the country as a 2016 model, 4 were spoken for already.
Anyways I'm number 5 now so allocation secured I was told to expect a call around April/May to put in the options and choose the color. Delivery should be by September/October as a 2016 Model.
I can't wait until I place the order. I might go to Geneva Auto show to see the launch of the RS there if its happening there. If it doesn't happen there then most likely the October deliveries might be optimistic.
Anyways I'm excited, it feels like I bought the car already

Wait, has something changed? I don't believe any allocations have been released, considering the car has not been officially released by Porsche. Unless you already have a 918, nothing is set. I think your dealer is full of it. 918 owners get first dibs, and if they all want one, no RS for you or anyone else. Hopefully I'm wrong!

Strange, well I have paid the money and got a paper for it saying GT3 RS!
I tried few months ago and they told me not yet. So them accepting a payment now means something changed, no?
By the way, I'm not in the US so maybe that has something to do with it.

No dealer in the world has allocations for a car that hasn't been announced yet. Until you have a commission number, all you have is a promise from the dealer to try and get you a car. Lots of the same thing happened with the GT3. Dealers are always happy to take a deposit. If they can deliver or not is another story.

Just an order? Mine is in the garage already. I'm not in the US either, I'm in the Republic of Texas.

I feel slightly better now after all the previous posts basically telling me I got scammed!

NOT allocated in the USA yet. Many dealers have names on lists with deposits, but they have no idea how many they will actually make- or how many we can have- Typically German.
This I do know is for sure- Magnesium Roof!
