I strongly suspect a class action is the only way PCNA will act. This is not like the engine issue where life and limb were at stake, this is cosmetic. To have PCNA act, they will have to feel pressure from customers directly.

Agreed.

Have you seen Aventador or Gallardo wheels after a few thousand miles, if that?

Or the C7 wheels on the Vette? Some of those bright polished beauties barely make it off the lot before they need to be refinished.

Cite please?

And who says the paint chips on the GT3 wheels are "significant"?

And what constitutes "most wheels"? Most wheels on family sedans? Most wheels on sports cars? Most wheels on Porsches? Most wheels on all cars?

Do tell.

If anything it's a design defect in the the car's exterior design (specifically the wheel arches, and perhaps even the offsets for the wheels and/or the aero and the cooling for the brakes.

Ok, you go first.

has to be the wheel...

but yes im sure some other wheels somewhere have also chipped. but that doesnt mean that they should. it means there is some flaw with the ones that do. because the overwhelming majority of the rest of the wheels on the rest of the cars in the world dont.

Just buy the poster ;-)
I'm hoping that matte aluminum will hold up. For the track I'll go with BB$ again I suppose.

Might make sense just to buy an extra set of OEM wheels as dedicated track wheels.

I am a BBS sucker, never had any other aftermarket wheel.
Wish I had a pic of the 323i I learned to drive in... It was that typical blue gray color of the 80's.

Even my rusting had 2 sets of BBS monoblocks as well. I sold it POS for the value of the BBS lol.
Been there. Done that.

Saved all my Thrifty's ice cream money for a set of BBS LMs for my E46 M3.

Didn't read the whole thread, so forgive me if it's been mentioned.

For a "3 footer appearance"; silver/gray sharpie paint pen (other colors available), Amazon for a couple of bucks. Takes care of white marks until can be done right.
