Hi Macca, yes, car can be driven NO problem...EXCEPT getting in and out of my driveway is impossible, and not wanting to leave it on the street in front of my house...I left it at the dealer, awaiting the new part.
Today I traded the Panamera in for a Cayenne loaner. Much better. Man, I MISS my GT3.

I needed my front lift when someone left a tennis shoe in the middle of the road!
It was a mid-top shoe but it still got stuck under the car!
So, up came the lift, and out went the shoe.
Another reason for the lift!

Thank you for the update! Hopefully you'll never have to experience this again during your ownership of the car.

"I like a escalator man. An escalator cannot break. They can only become stairs. You should never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience."

Just came back from the dealer. Service manager suggested that the "wooing" sound is from the pump although I couldn't duplicate that in their shop. I only showed them a sound clip that I recorded.

The hydraulic pump is broken, and there are NONE in the USA, and apparently NONE in Germany. 8 days out, no part, no car. And yes, I've contacted PCNA to complain....

I read in the manual that when the car is parked you cannot leave the lift in suspended mode (up) for an extended period of time b/c that can cause undue pressure and harm to the lift. Could that be a cause in your case?
