Update for me: I did 200 miles after I changed the oil, then I got the light for about 300 miles, today it went away.

Can I get some input, please; I just had the dealer change the oil and got a yellow light too;
Did an oil change and drove for 10 miles no yellow, all green full green bars. On my way home in traffic the yellow light came on "over max" I called and spoke w mechanic directly, reported;
"please continue driving the car it will be okay with some miles as I only added 7 total qt. and the car calls for 7.0-7.5 on oil change.
I do smell some oil but will like to continue driving the car, should I go back?
Saeed.

SO I have been watching all of these posts with the "overfill syndrome" and it seems that while the car is sensitive to small amounts, it is mostly only the last 2 bars of fill that screws this whole thing up. So I ask: Why even attempt to get the last 2 green bars? My car was delivered with only 1 green bar. But it is still in the happy range. I have driven 1400 miles, and a half track day, and still at 1 green bar. There is plenty of oil in the system. If the car thought that running it at 1 green bar was dangerous, it would easily give a code or symbol for that. I just think that maybe the better "line" to shoot for would be right smack dab in the middle of the green bars, because as the last 2 green bars are attempted, it doesn't measure the added oil very well, and days later says you overfilled. Can anyone give me a reason why running anywhere in the green range is bad?
You're suppose to add between 7 and 7.5. I would say; just add 6.25-6.5, add as needed from there.
