....And no.... It's not what may have first come to mind. The sun was shining on the front of the car and lo and behold behind the front screens and in front of the radiators
I noticed a little nest of leaves on both sides! Looks like I was hoovering them up over the past week or two unbeknownst to me.
I used a flexible claw grabber through the front intake holes to grab them and pull them out. I really had not noticed that there are not screens over those intakes.
So something to watch out for as we drive our cars in the fall. I can see that in the south there could be an issue with live oak tree leaves perhaps.
I haven't looked but there is probably a front apron underneath the radiators that could also be removed to access that area for a more thorough cleaning if necessary.

Can you post a photo? And is there any chance of rocks entering and damaging the radiators?

I believe the bumper has to be removed to access those areas.

Not likely because they will hit plastic first then get deflected, pretty much out of harms way.

How can leaves get in there? The screen looks pretty tight

A low volume electric blower also works very well.

Yeah the intakes are to the side of the radiators, but they do suck up leaves! Like a
jet engine intake. I pulled 3 or 4 out of both sides.

Foto above. No chance of damage, just possible restricted air flow.
A vacuum would also work with a small hose.

Any reason why factory wouldn't have put screens on these intake openings?

I also have used a leaf blower. I was amazed at how it forced all of the debris out of those areas.

Thanks. Can stones get in there and then get behind to where the fan is to cause damage (like they could before the screen/wheel liner campaign)?

I thought I read somewhere in Porsche's literature that 'all' intakes were covered with mesh. Titanium colored to be specific.

Well.....No unfortunately... I guess they forgot 2 spots. Not a big deal. I can't see stones sucking in there. Just some good sized oak leaves for me.
I have a nice vac with a small 1 inch hose that fits in there nicely.
Forcing air in there just blew the leaf around and not back to the intake.
So I just grabbed them with the grabber.
In the future, I will try sucking them out.

Thanks for the heads up Rob, I assumed that area is protected from debris. I will check mine in the morning.
