Default Real life pic of why you need front lift!

I know this has been discussed till death here! But I have not seen any real life pic of how low the GT3 is on the street.

So here is a pic of my GT3 parked on the street with the front lift activates, the curb isn't actually that high as you can see. But the combination of the slop and the long overhang means, there really isn't much clearance. Guess what will happen if I didn't have the lift!

Why would anyone park over a parking stop aka curb. Lift or not you're likely going to hit the curb. Either way the driver should exercise more caution.

That said, the 991 has far less overhang than its predecessor. The predecessor had few issues navigating sans lift. Not much new with the 991, other than ramp angle, which would not apply in the situation.

Because if you don't, your back will stick out and you will end up blocking half the road. You car either end up getting towed or your back get fully smashed by on coming traffic.

That's a bit of a stretch Why park with the front overhanging a curb?

You and I clearly lives in different part of the world. Try imagine living in parts of the world where roads are narrow and parking space are extremely limited.

If I remember correctly, you're not supposed to leave the car with the lift activated hanging over an obstacle while it's off, because if it fails it will crunch over that curb on the bottom.

However, your demonstration is very useful thank you

Fair enough. The need may be greater where you live. Your avatar nor post reflects your origin.

Of course, you do realize that someone could also post a 100 pics of why you don't need a lift. The debate lives on!

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! I like the debate!!! I myself chose no lift. We will see if I regret it someday. New title for your post would stop the banter:

So true Fowwiee, been to many countries in Europe, roads in many of the city centres are so narrow, let alone even finding a parking spot. Parking sure is at a premium, that's if they even allow you to take your car on some of the roads.

I thought that the included license plate in his pic, in his posts, was a good guess as to not being in, from the US.

But then again you don't make your location obvious either to a casual observer.

True dat...the manual says that the lift "cannot be maintained in the upper position over an extended period without active replenishing of the pressure accumulator or engine operation" so you shouldn't park over the top of stuff for long periods of time.

That said, as long as the lift is in good working order, parking somewhere for a couple of hours isn't going to be a problem. I've forgotten to lower my car in the garage a few times and come out a day later to find it still proud and erect.
