Ha ha... I had the q-tips out yesterday to clean up the badges. I wonder how long it will be before it comes off.

Certainly, that's why I'm not too worried about it. I'm just a water beading junkie and like to see the water fall off the wheels.

One quick thing to ask the RL crowd. Has anyone noticed the fit/finish of the rear decklid? I have been viewing a lot of GT3s recently, and I notice the fit/finish of the decklid to be sporadic. In Money2536's car, it appears the rear decklid is overclosed by 1/8 of an inch or so, equally on both sides. It is easily noticeable because there is the 1/2" design bend at the leading edge that is supposed to match the car qtr panels. I know this piece is not metal, so I wonder if some of the fit/finish things I have been seeing are related to heat on a plastic part????? Hope not.
Ghee, thanks a lot man! Now I'm going to be staring at the gaps. I didn't notice it. I'm sure I'll be doing a boatload of detailed detialing posts, but check my C2S Journal for products, videos, etc in the mean time.

Sorry Money!! Didn't mean to turn up the OCD level for you!!! It is the close up pic of the rear. It could be the "angles" of the bent leading edges that are different bends?? It looks worse when viewing downward, from say the spoiler eye level down. The upward shots from below are more difficult to tell.
I assume the rear decklid is separately adjustable for fit/finish, like the frunk.

I'm guessing they take the lid off when replacing the engine, so that may be why it's not perfect. I'm not messing with it, or so I say right now.

Hey Matt,

Congrats on one absolutely spectacular looking GT3..

I must say, I've always been a black car guy, but that blue is positively badass!!!

How close is the color in your photos compared to the real deal?

The photos are a tad yellow, but it's pretty close. It also might be just a tad darker when seen in person versus what you are seeing in the photos. I purposely didn't do any editing other than cropping to retain the accurate color.

Nice! You are going to love it. I've had quite a few cool cars, but this car gets a response like nothing I've ever driven. I need to get the windows tinted so I don't feel like everyone is looking at me to see what goofball is driving this beast.

Have you thought about ceramic pro? Something similar to cQuartz.

In preparation to my GT3 arrival I have been looking around for different protection options. I hear XPEL for films and cQuartz or ceramic pro for coatings.

Looking forward to following your detailing techniques.

Your pictures made me change my color from black to Sapphire Blue Metallic.

I'm doing XPEL for the whole front of the car and most likely Opti-Coat 2.0 on the rest of the car.

Personally, I don't like coatings. You obviously get longer lasting protection, but you don't get the same depth and water beading you get with other options. I'll use Auto Finesse Desire carnuba wax on this car after a correction.

I also don't like clear film. I won't be putting it on my car. If I were going to track the car, I'd be all over. To me it's like putting plastic on your new furniture. Make it look worse, so that you can keep it looking nice.

Default Michelin Velvet Technology

"A special mold tooling process has led to the development of Michelin Velvet Technology, a process that has made it possible to create more contrast on sections of the outer sidewall using micro-geometry techniques that absorb light. The geometry of the texture permits variable contrast to create shades of black that have the look of velvet."

Naturally, I've shown quite a few people my car over the past few days. The thing that people go crazy over the most is the Velvet looking lettering on the Sport Cup 2 tires. If you haven't noticed this, then go rub your fingers on the lettering of the tires. Then show some people that don't know squat about cars and watch their reaction.
