Just tried a ROW sports bucket seat in the GT3. Coming from a 997.2 Turbo with 18 way seats, this bucket is snug. ingree and egress needs some getting use to esp with the side bolsters, manual adjustment fore and aft, tilt forward, one-piece and backrest is not movable. Seat can tilt forward for access to rear. BUT I could NOT adjust for height..... maybe I missed something.
I often drive take my cars for 3 hour drives, and personally, this seat will take some getting use to esp with the snugness. I am 5'8" and 68kg with a 32 waist and I do find this seat quite "fitting". I prefer a little wriggle room.

I have ROW buckets. Good for non stop drives of up to 3-4 hrs (of which I did many in NZ and in Europe). I have the heated option which helps. Im 6'2" 210lb fits absolutely fine and a few of my fatter mates have jumped in the drivers seat and have remarked that they didnt think they would fit and they did. The bases are wide compared to my Recaro PP style seats in the 993.
I think at 5'8" or shorter you will find the lack of height adjustment annoying but the US single piece bucket seats have these.
I for one believe the US single piece bucket is more attractive than the older Gt2 folding buckets I have - but with the clubsport option and half cage in the back Im sure glad I have the folding seat as Im often throwing my gearbag and helmets back there and on trips with the wife longer than a week I need that space for luggage.
Although it wasnt an option I suspect the single piece buckets make more sense for USA where you cant order the half cage form the factory in any case...

Clocked e-mailed me the correspondence from Melissa (Thanks Clocked!) and the only FACT that I could discern was:
1. The US is getting "LIGHTWEIGHT BUCKET SEATS" - Nothing new there.
2. They offer electric adjustment of seat height and have NO folding backrest. - Nothing new there except maybe as to corroborate it as FACT as it came from a Porsche employee.
Here are the photos from the e-Mail
The other fact I do know is that for those of us waiting for these WE ARE GOING TO LOVE THEM!

Per Melissa I would say no.
Per Melissa:
"They offer electric adjustment of seat height and they have no folding backrest."
Irish Guitar Hope this answers your question.
