If you want to drive one first, I would suggest a trip to Exotics Racing in Las Vegas, you can make it a day tip. I did in July and it made me very comfortable with the choice. it is about $400 for 56 laps and $400 for a ticket, it is an expensive test drive, but before you spend $150K it is good to know if you like the car. The track is short, about 1.2 miles but you can run the car flat out and it will give you a good feel for things.

I'm in Norcal and currently have 2012 Carrera GTS coupe. I have been sitting on the sidelines and have been pondering potentially moving to a new GT3. I've finally decided to move forward, but I'm fearing its too late to find a configurable slot open.
If anyone knows of any dealers in CA available, let me know. Sonnen's is already gone and I have a few more e-mails out to other dealers.
