Talking Show me your Rhodium Silver GT

I'm still on the fence with agate. I wonder if silver is better for hiding the eventual road rash/chips ? I think it hides dirt better. I would love to see more pics than what I have seen so far on the web.

The pic at the top is from the Chris Harris video and I know for a fact that it's GT Silver, not Rhodium. I think the one at the bottom is GT Silver also but under the artificial lighting it's harder to tell. The middle one may be Rhodium, but again the lighting plays tricks.

It's so hard to tell. Back to the dealer to see if he has any porsche in that color.
I will feel better when my change date passes and am fully committed to my decision. I'm not on the fence about any other choice, so I am almost there. Looks like rhodium (middle pic)has a bluer hue ? could be the white balance of the shot.

Rhodium is lighter and brighter with a slight bluish tint which is what made me think the middle pic was rhodium. GT is a darker, richer looking silver, more toward gray. Both are nice and both would be a little better at hiding chips than darker colors or red.

The best feeling is when the order locks, and no more going back and forth.

Silver has been gaining strength over the past 5 days. It is the traditional German race color....along with white too.

Just for reference here's a comparison of the various silvers. Of course the picture contrast etc is not calibrated to the actual color but it gives one a rough idea.

My original spec was Rhodium Silver. I think it is a classic Porsche look on the GT3.
In the end I went PTS. But the Rhodium looks all business. Pass on the Gray. Its boring. Not to mention you already have been there...

A guy at our local track drives a 997.2 GT3 in GT Silver. In the bright sunshine it looks spectacular - much lighter and more radiant than Haku's color sample photo, but with much more "depth" than Rhodium. In the evening it looks darker and more serious, maybe even slightly sinister, which somehow seems appropriate for a GT3. My 996 GT3 is arctic silver, which looks closer to Rhodium or Platinum, and it's a great color, but GT Silver would get my vote for the new car. You really have to see these colors in person on an actual 911 to truly assess what works for you.

A very good explanation fbirch. The richness and depth really makes the GT Silver quite stunning. It's weird but it hasn't got the warmth that platinum has, nor does it have the bluey coldness and slight "blotchiness" of Rhodium. Its just a wonderful silver which as you rightly point out, changes significantly in its tones throught the day.

Oh, I forgot this is a thread about Rhodium. Apologies.

kind of clashes with the two blue handicap signs and the white no parking beneath. beautiful car though.
