I read somewhere that they tested the system with 500 consecutive launches for the GT3

I noticed there is no sport plus mode on the Gt3, at least I did not see a button for it on center console. So am I right to believe that there are just two dribing modes, non-sport and sport? I realize there are two other buttons to turn nannies off, but I mean just two driving modes with the nannies on?

Which reminds me, I have yet to try the launch control of my 13 991 C2S before I return it in January when I pick up the GT3. I just get too paranoid to get caught doing it in public roads.

There are two driving modes. The default mode on the GT3 is similar to the sport mode on my old 997.2. The PDK Sport mode is similar to Sport +. There is no super economy base mode on the GT3. Although in default auto it shifts quite early, it's more responsive and will downshift more quickly in response to throttle input than the 997.2 did in default mode.

Glad there is no pure economy mode, it was a waste, i never liked it or used it in my 991S, except may be when I wasn't feeling well or something.

So in sport (when left in automatic) pdk upshifts at 9000?
So in non-sport mode pdk upshifts when? My guess somewhere 4500-6000 rpm.

There is no stop start and no coast feature as there is with regular PDK.

In PDK sport with very mild throttle it will shift around 4K+. It's very throttle dependent. If you're on the gas in PDK sport it won't shift until redline.

In non-sport it shifts very early if you are gentle with the throttle. Again, it's throttle dependent. The difference between the default mode in the GT3 and default mode in a regular 997 (and I assume 991) is that the GT3 will downshift more quickly in response to throttle input and will hold gears longer if you're on the gas.

The best way to drive the car in anything but full throttle track situations, is to put it in manual mode and pick your own shift points.

What do most people use?; paddle or shifter. I find myself using the shifter on turns and the paddles on the straights.

^^ I almost always use the paddles. Only if the wheel is really wound up in a tight turn is it an advantage to take my hands off the wheel and use the shifter.
