I'm in Austin this week for work, and I noticed everyone here calls it Le Mans (it's Lone Star Le Mans on the is site). What about it is Le Mans-like? It's not a particularly long race. It's not in France. While it does have many of the same cars, that's true of most of the Tudor USCC races.

haha, I guess you will have to ask the Circuit of the Americas, The American LeMans organization, IMSA, etc. that question. I just call it that because its what is on the tickets

TUSC has no LMP1 cars. The 919 is a huge difference from DPs - DPs are like dump trucks in comparison!! Not 24 hours - but still a 6 hour enduro with the top sports car teams in the world competing under full ACO/FIA rules.

You guys talking about COTA or Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta?

We're going to Petit.

Actually on a plane heading there now. I scored a weekend outing with the DMG Mori team. Get to see the 919 up close, can't wait.

Great fun today at the race. Got to spend a little time with Detlev. A couple of quotes:

To my comment that I have a 991 GT3 on order - "sorry about all the delays and issues with GT3 production, we've got it right now"...

To my comment that I am hopeful I will secure an RS - "what RS?" (then big smile)

I was there today from 9-2 in the Porsche Loft. Pretty awesome place to be. Was anyone else hanging out there? I liked the Real Racing simulator driving the RSR.

Yeah we were there. My dealer had a car in the race. Fun day. The rain made it interesting.

Also, I like how Webber came up to the booth and did Q&A. When I arrived, I got there at the same time as two of the other 919 drivers ( they arrived in a cayman s). We shared a golf cart to main building.
