GT2 bucket seats available as tequipment for US?
Check out the Porsche tequipment website for the US:
http://content2.us.porsche.com/prod/...rm&country=usa
If you pull up the 991 GT3 and even the 981 Cayman, and select performance parts, the old GT2/ROW bucket seats come up as an option. Is this an error? Is this new? Is this Porsche's way of circumventing the DOT restrictions on having the GT2 bucket seats in the new cars?

I found this last night too after seeing a post on P-9 that quoted a $US price. I hope it's true. Emailed my dealer but won't hear back until Monday at the earliest. Seems if they are sold through techquipment and dealer then they should be fully compatible with wiring connectors, airbags, etc. This would also match what Sam said in his post about installing these seats. I see they have a 991 part number.

This is interesting indeed. Mine have a 997 part number so interested to know what's those seats' solution to the passenger weight sensing issue. The solution is straightforward: a different seat module with a compatible 991 wire harness. We had to figure a workaround to make it work. But as I mentioned earlier in my post, the seat mounted airbags work fine, plug and play. That was never an issue.

Frankly it doesn't really make sense that the old style seat would be offered rather than the 918 style seat that just finally became available for the GT3. Unless the regs changed, but then the old style seats could be offered for new car delivery. What would make sense is wrong picture of seat in catalog.

What about the 991 GT3 Club Sport roll bar ? I don't see it there. Will anyone be offering it ? How about that firm that use to sell motorsport stuff from Europe to the US ? (I can't remember the co. name).
I should add, can a roll bar be used with the US 918 light bucket seats that fold or do they need to be fixed back like the GT3 seat of old ?

so the light weight bucket seat option for 991 GT3 do not fold ? I thought they were essentially 918 seats ? I seem to remember folding seats not recommended for roll bar installs ? Anyone ?

Carnewal also sells those seats 10k per pair.

The GT2 seats fold forward and have the factory roll bar when optioned in ROW with the clubsport package, so I would assume that they are ok for rollbar installs if Porsche thinks it's ok.
I find it very odd that the entire reason the GT2 seats weren't allowed in the US GT3 was because of DOT regulations, but now you can buy them from tequipment for the 981 and the 991....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the current consensus is that the 918 style seats are fixed and do not fold forward.
