Well its obvious the amount of allocations has increased dramatically, so much that their might be open ones and new cars on dealer lots in the winter....

Given the large sunk cost of the 991 GT3 associated with R&D, engine replacements, etc., it makes sense to me that Porsche would want to now sell a bunch of these cars to boost average profit per car and overall profit.

Creating an impression of scarcity is certainly good for boosting sales and helping to keep prices high.

+1, I think this is the "soft" relaunch plan: spread rumor that production is ending (drive demand), release new factory video, then quietly drop incremental allocations.

Who cares why?? The new engine is perfect and they have room to pump out a few extra hundred cars to help satisfy demand. The car is great and there is a small window to grab one.

Remember - this could be the last of the NA engine for the GT3 and it is so under priced for the performance delivered.

This is nothing abnormal. 2015 allocations were released and have been going out. They will all get sold and people will be posting asking where to buy one soon enough. No dealer knew how many allocations they were going to have for 2015 until somewhat recently.

Agreed. And this is likely just it--just one batch of 2015 allocations. And if Champion got a sum total of 15, can't imagine more than 300 +/- all US dealers for these new 2015 allocations, tops.

Ask you General Manager if you know him/her well if Champion got 15. They will know if they did because it will be based on percentage of US 911 sales like how the 2014s GT3s were done.

too much talking.
just get one.
it's a lot better than 997
but dont trade in the 7. keep that too.
there are days you want to row the stick and drive slow. nothing like txting, sipping mocha, eating ham cheese croissant while shifting in heavy traffic with GT3 clutch.

just a regular commute to the office.....

Today I spoke with a high level executive at PNA, there will be NO more GT3's built after December.

If you want a GT3 suggest you pick up a remaining allocation. Production will move to the GT3RS.

Thanks.

This explains the flurry of allocations granted the last couple of months. I bet the total number for the US for 2014-15 is likely under 600-700.
