Another benefit of the southwest.... Never have a need for a trickle charge.

Trickle chargers aren't really regional. They are dependent on how often you drive the car. I you leave it for two week stints without driving and do not take long enough drives, the battery will wear and your alternator will work harder.

If you drive it daily, you don't need it.

I have the Ctek one that comes with the mini cables attached to the battery. There is quick clip plug that you connect. This requires opening the front bonnet.

Exactly what I do. Charger is mounted on the wall of the garage. I open the frunk to get out my Porsche indoor cover, and hook up the charger. Quick, easy, and no fooling around in the cabin or closing doors on the cable.

Here you go. To get the length that I wanted, I purchased an extension lead that allowed me to bring the plug out through the cover for the battery compartment to where it is easily accessible. The plug nests in the recessed handle for the cover and more slack can be pulled out when required. Note that the connector is also fused for safety.

Mike is that recess in the cover standard on the GT3? Did you just pop a hole for the cable?

It's standard. There's one on each side of the cover to assist in pulling it up, and there is already a cutout where each recess is located. No cutting required.
