I was also told that GT3 production will end at the end of February.
When I asked about the RS (I'm on the list for one), I was told that they may get some details late next week on release/pricing. If this is the case, then a Paris launch seems more likely...

I dont really care anyway. You wont own a 918 so what does it matter and you wont own the other cars. Point is dont say what a supercar purchase is until you have owned one. My point is its not a impulse purchase and i have owned a 458. Great car but its nowhere near the 918. In fact the gt3 in my opinion is better.

And feel free to pm me. I will provide whatever is needed to prove that i am legit. 918 info. Gt 3 info. Email from pcna locking in rs allocation. Whatever is needed.
No need to get angry and throw out sweeping assumptions when you have no clue what cars I've owned or am purchasing. Your facts were inaccurate, simple as that. The 458 sold at sticker or above for years after it was released. It only started coming down over the last year.

The P1 and LaFerrari were sold out almost as fast as they were announced. For Ferrari at least, that's an intentional strategy. All 3 makers decided to make limited edition cars. McLaren and Ferrari went more limited. It's not a knock on the 918 at all, just different selling strategies.

I personally don't need proof of your ownership but I hold about as much weight in your opinion as anyone else on the internet. It's nothing personal, I just don't trust anyone on the internet till I meet them in person or they have a long track record. You have neither.

I don't want a car with an edge that hard for the street. I think the GT3 will be perfect. YMMV.
Agreed assuming it does come to use pretty hard edged. Early rumors say so. If its 30% stiffer I'll pass b/c despite track use, majority of miles are street.

The 'regular' GT3 is intense enough.

With all the chatter going on here about prices, the one thing that is becoming even more apparent is that the 991 GT3 (regardless of '14 or '15) is, by all accounts, A BARGAIN!
I also think that more people are going to keep it for longer.

I can only speak for myself but I found myself reaching for the 997 GT3 keys not often enough and choosing a 'lazy' vehicle. It's days were numbered. Even more so for the 996 GT3.

While it's only been a week in the 991, it's amazing on street and can't get enough. I reckon I'll have it until Porsche comes out with a younger model with bigger ***** and butt. Preferably also a redhead

Good point - my dealer has sold 4 918s and doesn't have any special facts on the RS yet.

However, PNA is pretty bad and communication timing so it doesn't mean 918man is wrong...

When I read these posts, it reminds me of a time from long ago when Porsche was a sportscar company. Sorry to be so blunt, but I highly doubt Porsche cares that much about the GT cars anymore. Their bread and butter is now all Cayenne, Panamera and soon Macan. When they launch the Macan in Asia, it's going to blow away any projections they have. Everyone I know has ordered a Macan in Beijing. GT customers are the enthusiasts that built the brand, but now that the brand is built, they don't need us anymore.

this thread has turned into something I would hear between my 9 and 7 year old boys, arguing about who's lego project is better and what toy belongs to who, and who made fun of who's favorite song, etc....

The 991RS no matter what the price will be a fantastic thrill ride. Rally car shifting and high rev limiter. I would shred my 997RS laptimes at Sebring in the new RS!
I would take one at MSRP but only if it is under $199K. cdn. Anything more then that and it becomes a garage queen with little to no track time and that is useless to me in my world.

As limited as it is now speculated to be, I cannot see it having long term value or appreciation like that of the 4.0L which is why I am sceptical on buying one or paying a premium for one.
(This would be due to the lack of a shared engine with the 991 Cup Car and no manual tranny. If it has RWS then I think it will for sure drop off most purist collectors radar.)

The only way i see the 991RS holding value or appreciating is if they never make a GT3 ever again (replacing the void with a 960 or something) and sticking with just carrera 911s and luxo 911 turbos....

Will be interesting to see where the values are in 2020 of the 997s and the 991s...

991RS will not appreciate nor will our GT3s. It just may depreciate at a slower rate.

At this point lets just wait until pricing and specs are announced and we will then have the facts.

Couple things for certain is the 991 GT3 whether a 2014/15 is a hell of a car for it price. You can probably say it is a bargain/steal although its tough to call a $150,000 car a steal.. I do not even think Porsche, themselves, knew how freakin good this was going to be and may be they underestimated demand because there was no third peddle option and now, in hindsight, they under priced the car - and not on purpose. They probably have regrets and may use the RS to get some $$$ back. also, the 991 GTRS, no matter the price. They will sell them all.

Owning a 1977 911S with leaking case studs did not inspire confidence in the all sports car Porsche car company. Nor did Porsche particularly care. We have it better today than in the "good old days" more than most people realize. The 991 GT3 is a car that could only be imagined in the 1970s or 80s, the Golden Years of Porsche.

This is the internet. We do not deal in facts. If we waited for facts, these forums would be very quiet..

I am betting 525 hp at a minimum and will be lighter than the GT3 - it will be a beast - if you build them; people will buy them
