Default Securing 991 GT3 RS

I have been assured the first available 991GT3 RS at my dealership. They put my name down as first on the RS list more than six months ago. I offered to put a deposit but they did not want one at the time. They are a solid dealer and have a good reputation with the local PCA. I will probably purchase a Boxster from them before the RS arrives and a GT4 when it becomes available. Four years ago, I had a deposit with a different dealer for the upcoming RS 4.0 When the car became available, I was unceremoniously bumped for another customer. What paperwork can I request to sign ahead of time in order to have something more than a handshake and my name first on the list? Thanks in advance.

a sales deposit receipt stating your place in line and securing your purchase at MSRP.

What you have is a loose hand shake. Unless you bought many cars from them before, no deposit raises a red flag for me. I doubt you will get your place in line in writing either. Bumping is 'normal" for cars like the RS.

I had a receipt for my deposit and a written agreement specifying that I was first in line for my GT3 at a dealer with whom I had a long term relationship, signed by my salesman and the sales manager, and I was still nervous that something could go haywire. I'd insist on making a deposit and getting something in writing IIWY.

Take this for what you believe it's worth. My dealer stated that they will get far fewer RS allocations than the number of people on their list. He said a lot of people are going to be disappointed. Without a deposit you don't have much to go on if the demand is going to far exceed supply.

Sorry I had to remove the image. Forgot to remove important info.

The form is a basic sales receipt that is hand written over for proof of deposit. Your dealer should have one. They are used to this.

Thanks Dude. I will call the dealer tomorrow and ask for a written receipt for my deposit on the RS.

You would be well served to ask the dealer to take a refundable deposit and get a buyer's order written. The buyer's order should indicate that the deposit is for an RS and that you are #1 on the list. I would explain your prior experience and let the dealer know that you want to cement your place in line. I think this is all you can do, other than to place deposits with multiple dealers.

Been there, done that. BL, you got squat. Start calling other dealers.

Lodi,

I will also ask for a buyer's order. I was previously told that I had to wait until the car was officially announced before any official paperwork could be drawn. Is this true?

Need advice I am #1 on the list for gt3rs from my dealer i have in writing a letter from the owner and the manager stating that. I have owned 997gt3, 997gt3 rs 3.8, and gt3 rs 4.0 #362, the issue of how many 991gt3rs comes up as I have been offered a def build slot for the 991 gt3 suddenly. I really have my hope on the RS but wonder if I should give up the gt3 as it is a sure thing. Would need to spec in next 24 hours. any opinions ? These are different dealerships.

Buy it, drive it, flip it. Looks like you've owned most of the others and are likely a year out on RS delivery, assuming you're in US.

+1. Flip it, not much risk if they honor the RS spot.

I have a signed buyers order with deposit for maybe a year now.
Put a deposit down with same dealer April '08 and got the first RS in Feb '10.
Fingers crossed but it helps that my dealer has an honored company policy of not selling over MSRP.
