I'm a big fan of putting helmet and hans on and off outside the car, when I first started using it, it was suggested that I put it on in the car due to my size. I'm 6'4" and have had no issues getting in and out of a Cayman R with full roll cage.
Suit up and practice 20 to 30 times until it's very natural in your driveway - you want to be able to get out quickly and subconsciously in an accident...

Looks good, you are going to love how secure you feel going through T1 at TWS next time... that was the biggest revelation I had when getting buckets in my Turbo back in the day. Instead of holding on for dear life through T1/T2, I was completely locked down and could just focus on working the controls.

I have the same one and think it's a good price point. I saw one of your other posts on practicing with it.

You won't be slower. You will be amazed by the amount of new sensory inputs the car will be sending you through your body and by your ability to completely relax your body and your grip to the steering wheel. While most people are aware of the safety benefits of buckets, harness, and HANS, they underestimate their benefits in feel and driving performance, until they try them -- then there's no turning back. It will be like driving a different car.
