991 gt3 vs ferrari 430
I have a 991 gt3 due for delivery in November. I have had previous model gt3's but never a ferrari. I know some people out there have driven both. I realized I could get a used ferrari 430 for about the same price or less than they gt3. Would this be a downgrade ? The ferrari's look and sound so good !!! Any thoughts

I have owned them both. It all depends on what you want.
The 430 will attract a lot of attention and its sound is awesome. But you wouldn't want to track the car and given it is now almost ten years ago you could be facing some maintenance cost.
The GT3 is an awesome machine. It is edgy and yet good for DD. it will not attract the same attention as the 430 but its sound and handling is better than the 430. In performance it would spank the 430 by a wide margin.

Had a F430 for a weekend, I think it is a downgrade even from a 997.2 GT3. The F1 transmission is very temperamental. In auto mode, it balks severely and stalled once in the middle of an intersection and made me look like a dick with a Ferrari with no idea how to shift. If you must get one, get one with manual.
