Xpel ultimate is what you want and that I pretty much what all the good installers are using if it is Xpel.

Door handle pocket, Gas tank lid, rear bumper - do not bother.

Headlights, Front blinker lights that are in the grill - yes

I think you could make the argument the first 8 inches of the roof beginning from the wind shield side. I am not going to do it but it sort of makes sense because I once chipped my 997.2 turbo up there

Just replaced my clear bra after 2 years and 20k miles of track and mountain driving. The following areas had the most impacts, chips (into the bra):

entire nose
rearview mirror backs
lower rocker sills all the way to rear fender as high wheel top
inner wheel arches
roof (redid entire top on this part).

Doors, rear quarter of car had only one or two super minor chips on the wing top. When the old bra came off, the paint was near flawless. This layout worked for me.

Jimmy, do the door handle pocket especially on a white car. You will regret not so.

How long has it been at port now?

Mine is on the boat, just west of the Panama Canal.

Your post was particularly helpful.

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not used to verbally describing some of these parts of the cars.
What is the rocker sill? Is it the part just below the door?
When you say inner wheel arches, do you mean just the arch in front of the rear wheel, or do you mean the lining of both wheel arches?

Did you put expel on your entire roof? If so did you include the A piilars?

How did the windshield hold up? Or was it filmed, with ClearPlex?

I got xpel ultimate on my bumper, door edges, door cups, and at the very last moment also the hood. Wish I hadn't done the hood. The film isn't quite perfect. You can see faint marks under certain angles in a few places. These might be what people call stretch marks. Or maybe they are slight scuffs in the material that was there from the beginning.

Thanks Dave. Did you do the entire bumper? May I ask what it cost?

Mooty is right. Whole nose = nose, both quarter panels, hood.

Rocker sill is the strip from wheel to wheel below the door.

Inner arch is the painted underside of the wheel well. At speed, the wheels throw stones and they can easily get chipped.

As far as windshield, I replaced mine at about 20k miles mainly from bad sandblasting on mountain drives. I was concerned with distortion using clear pled. I think the cost over a couple of years will end up being the same and would prefer a new windshield.

As far as roof, I did entire a pillar and top section and the termination is at the edge of the rear window. Not optimal but it flows.

For the hood, if there are distortions, it should be redone. Done correctly, it looks like paint.

I know it depends on how much is done but on average what is the cost? For an example how much should one expect top pay for the hood, bumper handles and rear arches?
