Aside from all the performance numbers and the rawness of the GT3; the rear wing is also what I really like and why I am getting this model. Plus, the 991 GT3 finally has the best looking wing Porsche has built for this model

Is there a way to increase the height of the gt3 wing like there is for the RS wing? Anyone selling upright extenders?

Because some folks think that the Rear Handle, I mean Wing, looks like Over-Kill - of which I agree. Wouldn't mind Porsche assembling a GT3 light and less filling. Sorry for the 80's pun!

Because I only reply to posts made at 09.11 a.m...

I photoshopped the ducktail on. Simple cut and paste rear deck of a beducktailed C4S, which has same rear body width, onto the GT3.

I would prefer it provided it didn't unbalance the car and if the ram air intake was still present (which it isn't on the Carrera ducktails).

Don't think cooling would be an issue as most of that's done via the radiators at the front. If anything, the ducktail has more vents in it due to lack of ram air intake.

Removing the wing while leaving the front alone is going to change the aero balance. The rear will get light at speed. Probably means nothing at highway speeds.

Here in Texas we have some speed limits as high as 85mph. 80-90 mph seems to be a regular commuting speed for some people. I would think as you hit those speed ranges, the aerodynamics start to come into play. Porsche sets the spoiler on the Carrera to deploy at 75mph.

I actually like the look of no wing on the GT3 and would love to see a nicely done duck tail.

There would be some effect at that speed, but pretty minor. I think around 125 mph, you'd begin to really notice it. Downforce (or Lift) is proportional to the Square of the Speed of the car (you get 4 times the downforce at 150 mph as you do at 75 mph)...

I'd love to take the wing off my 991GT3RS as I did with the 997, but then I looked at the math -- and assuming it's correct -- at the top of end of highway speeds the downforce in these new cars is more material and now I think I might have to learn to love the wing as so many here already do.

Still, I'd like to know what adding the 911R diffuser would do to address this ...
