Expert opinion needed to help my decision dilemma with GT3 vs C4s

But seriously, the rumor is that suspension tuning plus revised PDK box make the RS terrible on street. PAG is on record saying that the RS this time around will be more differentiated from the regular 3 in terms of how it is tuned compared to the 997 variants.

I always get a chuckle when I see questions about the DD abilities of a new Porsche. During most of my college days I drove a '71 square back VW with no A/C, 4 speed manual, crappy am only radio and a broken steering box that helped me develop powerful forearms. Soon, I will be taking delivery of a new GT3 with automatic, ac, cruise, tilt, 18 way power seats, home link, ps,pl,pw, nav and the list goes on and on. I'm sure a new Lexus LS 460 would ride a little smoother but this is a Porsche forum, isn't it?

LOL. Too funny.
Probably true. The GTR rides like a bucket of bolts and is hideous. So I consider it unstreetable based on looks alone.

I came very close to buying an M4, Cayman GTS, then C4S.
I'm so glad I kept reading the forums. Now I'm happily waiting for my GT3 to arrive in November.

But people have gotten soft.

The logical part of me says Walk (c4s) before you run (gt3). However, for me the driving a sports car is an emotional experience. I have dreamt it since I was a little kid. I am going with the GT3 even though I have never driven one. I don't think the 40 years of German engineering will disappoint me

It won't I came t the same conclusion after driving a dozen diff Porsches. I drove the salesman nuts. But finally, I decided like you did and for the same reasons I doubt you will be disappointed!

I drove a 991 C4S for 17,000 miles, including about 4,000 track miles. I loved every single bit of it, everything. I then got the GT3 and have now 5,000 miles on it, of which about 1,200 are track miles. Night and day in everything. Of course it is better on the track but this is not a fair comparison. The GT3 is a great street car. I have never felt the ride to be harsh unless the road is particularly bad. One thing people seem to not realize, is that the streetability of the GT3 is not solely from its suspension but the seats!! The seats make the ride very compliant. True, you will never appreciate its full abilities on the street but the same applies to the GT-R, Ferraris, Lambos that never see track duty so who cares?
Good decision, good luck.

High performance cars can never be used fully on the street, but that doesn't keep them from putting a big *** smile on your face constantly.
Driving shouldn't be boring. Even on the street.
