OT-Is anyone considering the NSX?

V6 engine combined with an electric motor. 400HP.

I hope they build a lightweight version without the FWD and E-motors...

Nick 07-23-2014 06:11 PM

Nice looking car but it needs another 150 horses.

Billy Wyatt 07-23-2014 06:11 PM

To Audi ish

With Twin Turbo 3.7L V-6 and 3 electric motors, I bet they are sandbagging the spec. They are claiming F458 performance at Porsche Carrera pricing.

Motor Authority says maybe over 600hp:

Car & Driver says over 500hp:

Motor Trend was estimating 480hp, but that might be too low:

Edmunds guesses at least 550hp or more:

Kinda cool that it's American made (Ohio)

The "Motorsport Pedigree" crowd should like it. The "only if it's a manual" crowd will probably be disappointed.

TRAKCAR 07-23-2014 06:39 PM

Yeah, an original one..

Now that has my attention. I have a deposit on the 960 but if it is priced around $300,000 and is around $120,000 not much to think about especially considering Honda quality is as good as it gets.

A cross between an R8 and 12C to my eyes - but all the worst parts of both! Not really a fan of the look, but turbo/hybrid is the way of the future. Lagless turbo power with better low rpm response than n/a engines - yes please! McLaren already proved it can be done while still keeping weight low.

Dr.Bill 07-23-2014 07:15 PM

It depends on the final specs - cost, weight, RWD or AWD, gearbox, etc.

reminds me of a bmw i8.

way to soon for me to buy a hybrid sports car. Bring on more NA cars with manuals.

Getting harder to find nice ones these day, my hopes pinned on Cayman GT4... Would be great if the GT3 RS surprises us as a member of the club too
;)

Peter,you already have a classic-the 500E. :)

ipse dixit 07-23-2014 11:04 PM

Yes, but not as an alternative to the GT3.

Jimmy-D 07-23-2014 11:17 PM

I forgot about the NSX. I am sure it will be nice and well built but does not move me. Yesterday I saw an EVO test drive video on a Metallic Yellow Huracan. That car moves me and I certainly have a strong interest
