Spec regrets

The only thing I still go back and forth on is the red stitching. I know it seems like a no-brainer with a red car, but at the time I felt that given all the grey and silver elements in the interior, adding red stitching would make things too busy inside. To my mind, I would have had to go with CF to balance things out, which would have made red stitching a $3500 option instead of a $1500 one. Plus I plan to get sport buckets when available and figured red stitching would add a premium cost to them as well, assuming I could even get them with red. The alternative would be mismatched seats. The grey/red choice was so close I decided to save the money, especially after going over my intended budget on the PCCB's.
Still the red stitching looks good so every time I see it, I have to go through the mental exercise above.

Bacura - I might of sounded confusing but I do agree that if I was a track junkie I would of gotten the Steesl and PCCBs for the road. I guess what I mean is that I went over board on the interior because it is more of a weekend/DD car. If I were using it predominately for the track I would not of spent all that money on upgrading the interior

One thing for certain; what was Porsche thinking when they designed these new keys. They are ugly and cheap. May be painting them will "polish the turd" sort to speak but if it lands me some strippers - all will be good

I also am the type who specs the interior leather to the gills, and then skimps on everything else (except front lift).
It's not about the money spent up front at purchase time, it just that I feel that a $165k build spec will never be recovered at selling time.. So you take a minimally depreciating car and turn it into a $30k loss car.
Really interesting thread.. Helps all of us 2015 guys think it through even more (if that's even possible)

For 2015, it's bundled with lap timing software for $1,850.
I like other 991s, there is no additional bundled performance functionality with the SC clock.
I got it bc I liked the look of it for $400. Simple as that.

^Yep. Not a necessary item but it does sort of finish the dashboard. But, my 2007 Turbo had it and there were two functions I wish it had which they have resolved. I wanted it to light up at night and I wanted it to at least have some sort of function rather only when tracking/racing. It now has a digital clock and lights up when lights turn on - not bad
