That might be true if there were an unlimited supply to choose from. Most likely getting either model year will be tough due to limited production.

I am highly doubting this since the production numbers were so low. On a base carrera maybe, but even that would be high depreciation.

$20,000 hit is not going to happen with these low production numbers. Plus, I will have my car next week with over $10,000 in my pocket. I actually like the way this is working out to be quite candid

I have been speaking with one dealer about selling my GT3 just before the winter of Chicago and said just a guess what you would pay me with 1,000 to 2,000 miles and they said $15k less than MSRP as they need to make money on the sale. Thus $20k may not be that far off.

Of course this is a sale to a dealer versus individual. In my state if you sell to the dealer you do get a sales tax credit equal to the proceeds of the sale times the state sales tax rate. Which for me would be over $10k in sales tax credit.

Yes, but how much money do they, or are they making? Is it going to be the 15K, or 10K? If so then not much of a depreciation hit IMO.

That's because he can get a brand new 2015 from Porsche for 15k less than MSRP. He may pay a little more for a used 2015 vs a 2014, but is probably not willing to pay more than he can get a brand new one for.

The dealer's trade in offer is not a fair comparison at all. This is why they are called stealerships. I'll bet if you wanted to unload your car now, you could for over MSRP very quickly.

Ask the same question about a new 2015 with zero miles and the answer will likely be similar. Dealers aren't known for their generosity.

I agree with this logic.

1-2k miles when 2015s will already be hitting the streets and the dealer trying to pay -15k from
MSRP means he's looking to sell a used car for MSRP at that point. Dealers have about 15k profit in new GT3s as Zucc mentioned.

That's not the same as "a 20k depreciation hit when you drive off the lot" as was implied by another poster.

In the end, and I do not mean to be a jerk; but who cares. We are all getting a great value9$$$) for the performance in the market place. 2014 owners are getting ~$10,000 for their headache plus I got to put over 3000 miles on a nice Loaner. I will own the car, in cash, and at this point what it depreciates in a year does not even register for me nor am I going to worry about what it will be worth when I decide to sell it. I bought this car because I always wanted a White GT3 and based on how exclusive this car will be is a bonus. I am just really excited now that I know I will be able to enjoy it within 2 weeks.

Cheers to every one!

These cars are toys and not financial investments for most of us.
Imo, for the next couple of years the cost per mile in the 991 GT3 is going to be far less than any other 991 variant to date. When you take everything into account (compensation, etc.), it doesn't matter whether it's a 2014 or 2015.
