Just one quick Question. Possible to get 500 BHP out of ECU Tune?

Since the 3.8L GT3 is so close, You have to figure the Porsche Engineers are being somewhat conservative on the mappings.

Anybody willing to bet real money that with just a mapping someone could get 500 BHP at the Crank? I figure this would be their plan (Porsche) when, if, they do a 991.2 iteration of the 911. Talking about no exhaust, throttle body, intake and exhaust.

I imagine this could have happened already if it weren't for the engine swaps.

Any taker's, GIAC, SHARKY?

Not a chance, you will not get those kind of gains on a NA engine...Porsche or other manufacture.

No way in hell...a gmg full kit and caboodle nearly gets you there (headers back with tune)...something like 495 crank hp.

Jamie_GT3 07-14-2014 05:11 PM

Need to uncork the exhaust to get close, even then picking up 50BHP is a lot. And porsche doesn't leave much on the table unlike some other marques...

You would have to do it with timing and lean out the map, but then you open yourself up to a possible BOOM.

There is a 500Hp recipe for a GT3 motor and both the liter and engine cost start with a 4 :)

True and price would be at least 20k
500 would require some blowing or sucking.

just look at what Porsche, Manthey and Sharkwerks had to do in order to get 500bhp+ out of the Mezger ... AFIAK *all* of them required more displacement etc etc ...

Also, if you go for high horsepower, chances are very very high that you will sacrifice torque and hp in the lower RPM's. The stock GT3 headers tend to be the best for road/track use as they don't choke the low end.

No.

I POSTED THIS IN THE WRONG FORUM. My Apologies - I was wanting it in the 991 GT3 Forum where we know the 991 GT3 Makes 475 BHP. Again my Apologies and if I could get a MOD or Admin to move this posting to the 991 GT3 I would appreciate it.

Darn-it I can't believe I screwed the goose and posted this here.

Hell I know that Sharky can get 500 BHP with their 3.9L kit. We are all ignorant but trust me fellas I would not have posed this question in here!

But thank you for your responses, I know there is no way in hell this could happen.

Thank you.

Yea, no 5H!T - I just graciously asked 911slow to move it, or someone else who has the powers to do so.

I know there ain't no way in hell a plane jane 2011 GT3 with what(?), 435 BHP, can spit off 500 Horsies off it's crank. That's just crazy talk man! But the new 991 on the other hand you know Porsche would leave plenty of room to Fart Around with especially being the first version of the car. Ya know how they like to increase the horse power over time to keep the Porschephiles interested.

I ain't that dumb - yuk yuk yuk yuk

It will be interesting to see what the RS comes with, if they left 15bhp on the table for the RS as they did with the 7.2 or if they go with a 7.1 strategy (same bhp), or if they will come out with a larger displacement engine as some predict ... I'm betting #1... exp since they seem to have radically changed the air intake system on the RS adopting the RSR system which is probably capable of delivering an additional 15bhp.

how many members have the new EVOMS/Sharwerks headers?

Wondering how much headers, test pipe, bypass, and 93 octane tune would get you. I think the only results I've seen were on a 997.1 GT3.

not many, I have only heard of one installation on a 3.6 7.1 ... not heard of one on 3.8 GT3 or RS ...
