Macca- I think every one will have different tested miles after replacement. I think we have to leave it to the discretion of the Mechanic in charge. I am sure it could be any where from 20 miles to 150. Their job is to make darn sure that they are comfortable with how the car will be delivered and every Mechanic will have his own personal evaluation.

I really can't believe any Porsche guy on the face of this planet believes that the 14's will be worth any less than a 15 car. Especially with that 5/100k warranty. I was discussing this very subject with a good friend of mine today over world cup and he argued that the value would be less. He also lost our gentlemen's bet as I'm half German and well...

That make this years machine the "race car" value of the century. I mean really. A 9,000 rpm road car that will escape most mortal men's idea of what's possible with an automobile that you can basically flog on a daily basis for years to come.

I'll be doing my very best to get myself into one before the end of the year.

I know it was uber painful for all Cat. A fellows but with compensation and that warranty I personally feel in the end it was unbelievably "worth it."

I apologize for going off topic.

Cheers.
My experience with my 03 M3 that had similar engine rebuilds and a similar warranty extension was a couple of years after the "fix" was clearly good the cars were more desirable than cars cars where the fix was done in reg production. This kept their used values at a "normal" level. More off topic, sorry.
