3.8L TT is not going to happen. It'll either be 3.8L NA (most likely) or turbo 3.0L from facelift Carrera/S (less likely). It's possible that they were testing with 3.8L TT on the Ring, simply because that's the only currently available plug-and-play motor available on the shelf.

So far that's been my experience with the Cayman, close but not quite, and that's the real challenge for the GT4 I think. On paper it's the smaller platform and should have a shot at it, but we'll see if it can capture the 911 magic. |

Even if the Cayman GT4 puts has 400hp that will be very interesting to me at least...

I look at the suspension set-up, wheels/tires, brakes, and aero on that prototype, and have a hard time believing they will put an off-the-shelf engine in it. Unfortunately, a variation of the GT3 engine or a new turbo-4 (would be my bet) means PDK only, which is a deal-breaker for me. So I'm not getting my hopes up.

I know everything is still rumor and conjecture with the GT4 but that does sound like a very plausible outcome. If it does have a lot in common with the GT3-RS (rumored to be ~150k USD) it does make me wonder if the GT4 might start at 100k USD or higher when it finally does come to market. -nh4. |
