Nothing exotic, just having some fun in the .2 GT3 I picked up in December. There was some interesting traffic though; a very nice GT2RS, a PTS example of a .2, a Cup car, a couple GT4’s, and several non-Porsche’s. BTW, I had nothing to do with the car running off the track.

You may notice the rear end gets a little loose toward the latter part of the session (I did). The left rear tire outer edge had actually delaminated to the point where the steel cord was exposed. This was only the eleventh session with that tire.

A lap around Spa in a rental 991.1 GT3. I was hoping for a Euro delivery but that did not happen, so I just rented a GT3 :-). It was a blast. Hard to get a clean lap with all the traffic especially for someone new to this track, so my best lap of the day happened after 5pm, hence the crazy glare in some corners. But this tack is such a blast. Also, same driver, same track GT3 was ~10 seconds faster than M2 on same tires in my hands, and I was way closer to 10/10 in M2 (slower car and fully insured vs. self-covered GT3).

Here are three laps at VIR. Managed to get into the 1:58s after some coaching from pro driver Jade Buford. The third lap is Jade driving a 1:57 lap with me in the right seat! Car is 991.2 with stock suspension and 20" Hoosiers.

After two hard days at VIR, my tires still had a little left for the CHIN event at Road Atlanta. Here are some 1:31 laps. Hoping to get in the 1:30s tomorrow with some fresh stickers. The 991.2 is amazing!

Now I have to post my Thunderhill 2.07. 991.2 GT3, manual, steel, stock in all other ways. Sorry from the bad quality video first time using HLT.

I was at the track this past weekend with the .1 GT3 on N1 Cup 2. Temps in the 40s and 50s. First day started wet and ended damp in some areas. Second day was dry. The grip in the wet the first day was terrible, lowest grip I've ever experienced in the car during thousands of track miles, and much worse than a regular street tire. I always go out in the rain, and am rarely passed unless someone has rain tires, but on this day I was being passed left and right by cars on regular street tires. The second day, on the dry track, the grip was fine. So I learned that the grip of these tires renders them almost unusable on wet tracks at colder temps in the 50s and especially 40s, even when the tire has a decent amount of tread.

Glad you pointed that out. I was running the N1 Cup 2 at Road Atlanta for the first Saturday session while I was having some new Hoosiers mounted. There was only a tiny bit of moisture on the track and the temps were in the 50s, but I was sliding all over the place, especially in turn 1. That would be consistent with what you were seeing. I'm going to put Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on my OEM wheels once I finish off the Cup 2s. I'll use those as my rain tires and for driving on the street. Here are my best laps from Sunday, which were in the 1:30s. If I can just get the courage to go flat through 12, I should easily be able to get in the 1:29s.

Yup, I found that even moisture was a problem at those colder temps. Back of the car was hypersensitive.

How do like the .2 GT3 compared to the .1 GT3? The 'ring lap time is much faster, and apparently the difference isn't due much (if it all) to N1 vs N0 tires.

How much faster do you think the lap times are on equal tires?
