Ride Quality Question: GT3 vs Turbo

Ride Quality Question: GT3 vs Turbo
Took Euro delivery of a Turbo yesterday. Nice car, but not the GT3 that I'm still waiting for...
I notice that the ride quality of the Turbo is quite firm, and the car feels a bit heavy to me. (FYI, the Turbo I'm driving has PDCC, but I am keeping it in the OFF position.)
Can anyone comment on the ride quality of the GT3, as it compares to the Turbo?
I'm hoping that the GT3 feels lighter. (I suspect that it does) And I'm hoping that the ride quality of the GT3 is different/better... The Turbo is a bit jarring and "harsh," if you know what I mean... Very stiff and not much give to it at all.

I highly doubt the GT3 will be more compliant. Likely the opposite.
Try a McLaren - it's the nicest riding sports car on the planet. It's a GT3 in race mode, and a Rolls Royce in normal mode.

You should test drive a GT3 even a 997.2 GT3 should be close enough before taking delivery. If you think TT ride is hard you be in for a big surprise when you drive the GT3. You might not like GT3 if TT ride is harsh for you.

If you want a cushy ride then you're buying the wrong car. That's not it's intended purpose. On the other hand, my understanding is that pdcc should make the ride better because it can let up on the sway bars when they aren't needed. Maybe you should leave it on.

Wow - I always felt the turbo was nice and plush but that was my 997.2. If you are finding the turbo harsh I think you will not like the GT3. But, it certainly felt heavy. I am driving the C2S Loaner and it does not feel heavy like the Turbo - just about right. The Turbo has the all wheel drive which adds the extra weight and probably a couple other things

Compared to a GT3, the ride in a Turbo is like taking your plush leather sofa for a drive. With PDCC on, the ride is even more plush.
The Turbo is quite a bit heavier, and the weight shows - the massive power does a decent job of hiding the mass, but you can't overcome the laws of physics. Handling in a GT3 is much more sharp and precise.

eilig, hope you're enjoying your trip. (How could you not be? )
Very interested in your comment about turning PDCC "off". I didn't realize that was possible. My Cayenne S has PDCC and there is no off switch. The active sway bars are engaged at all times since AFAIK there is no way for them to operate in a "fixed" position. Curious to know how this feature has been implemented on the Turbo.

All good info, thanks guys -- I need to experiment with the PDCC button on and off. Thus far I've not played with it, and I've only taken the car for two drives. But compared to a 991 C2S, so far it just feels heavier and a bit more harsh.
I've always felt that the ride in the C2S was perfect for my taste, and entirely compliant. Likewise for the Ferrari 458. They both seem to be dialed in very well for my preferences. But my immediate "butt reaction" to the Turbo has been less than optimal.
I'll be in Zuffenhausen for another couple of days... I wonder if they could/would be able to allow me to take a GT3 for a test drive while I'm here?? I'm going to check into that, actually...

I just sent my "Specialist Factory Delivery" guy here in Zuffenhausen an email requesting a GT3 test drive for tomorrow. Let's see what he can come up with... This oughta be interesting.

I have PDCC on my 991S. There is a button that changes it from softer to stiffer (no jokes). It doesn't turn it off - that would be impossible since it's a physical hydraulic arm attached to the suspension. To be honest, there isn't a huge difference between the two modes unless you're on really bad pavement. That said, that's not the benefit. The system does an amazing job absorbing general road imperfections, making a much more pleasant daily driving experience than cars without it.

I hardly noticed any difference between 991S and the GT3 in terms of stiffness while i was on rough pavement. My 991S doesn't have PDCC as well. From what i understand, people with PDCC cars mostly say its a harsher ride from what i recall on the 991 threads if I'm not mistaken.
