GT3 - possibly the most superficial questions you will see this week?

So far nothing but very positive reactions to the car from everyone who's seen it. Lots of smiles and thumbs up. It's very sporty without being ostentatious or over the top styling wise, IMO. I think most people recognize it as a purposeful, well made tool for someone who really enjoys driving rather than something you purchased just to show off, which isn't always the case with high end sports and luxury cars.
For those who don't get it, it's their problem not mine.
Edit: Oh, and I agree with the earlier comments about the car's height and appearance in person. It's already low enough to be problematic in some road situations, especially without the lift; definitely wouldn't want it any lower for street use.

...I love the look of the GT3, the wing and aeropackage, the whole look and aggressive stance. But, I can't help remembering Clarksons' (I know) comment on a TG show reviewing what I think was the RS and talking about how the wing made you stand out as something that wasn't very complimentary. So, first question, does the whole appearance attract the 'wrong' kind of attention?
If/when I step into a GT3, it will most likely be a 3.8 RS since the uprights and wing are easily unbolted, leaving the (relatively) discreet ducktail.

My '84 Carrera had the whale tail; I loved it. IMHO, the GT3 wing is properly integrated into the design of the car and is a spiritual successor to my old whale tail and I love it as well. TEHO I guess. It will be a sad day, though, when Jeremy Clarkson's opinion makes any difference to me with regard to what I like in a car.

You really have to see this car , in person, to see how perfectly integrated the wing is. I never liked the wings on any of the RS models thru the years and never thought the wing on prior GT3s looked their part. - This one - Porsche gets the their credit

In a standard GT3, there isn't much attention. Looks pretty much like any other Porsche to most people.
Now, when I had a GT3RS, it was a different story. Mostly it attracted the young stoplight racers in their rice burners or their Dads bimmer. Easy enough to ignore.
The R8 attracted even more attention, but all of it positive.
I'm not sure I'd lower the car. Who knows how that would affect the rear wheel steering and handling?

Thanks a lot guys for your responses. I need to get out and see one in person. looking ti get back to Roebling road once it cools down a bit so hopefully I will get to see one in the flesh.
Just a bit of a tangent - What started me of along the Porsche route is a ride I got at VIR in a full on P race car. I was riding/coaching on the Patriot track with a motorcycle track day group i volunteered with. I wandered over to the main paddock and got chatting with a guy that gave me a ride along for a session on the full course. Blew my mind, particularly how late he was braking into T1 and the corner speed he was carrying.
anyway, cheers, thanks again

I've been thinking a lot about a GT3, and anzelGS pics are only making it worse.
I do have a couple of pretty superficial questions which I'm sure will disappear once I get a drive in a GT3.
Anyway, I love the look of the GT3, the wing and aeropackage, the whole look and aggressive stance. But, I can't help remembering Clarksons' (I know) comment on a TG show reviewing what I think was the RS and talking about how the wing made you stand out as something that wasn't very complimentary. So, first question, does the whole appearance attract the 'wrong' kind of attention? I remember once when i aaas driving a Cobra rep and a restaurant had me parked up front. When i went to get my car I overheard a comment from someone suggesting that the owner of that type of car was compensating for something….anyway, i know we talk about not caring what others think or say but just wondered if it was any different in a winged 911 than my basic s?
The other thing, once again kinda superficial, the first thing I did to my car was lower it a bit to get rid of what i think is the big gap in the wheel wells. I know the Gt3 is lower, but in a lot of the pics I've seen there still seems to be a decent gap in the wheel wells. Is this just an optical illusion or is that the case.
once again, understand these aren't big questions, and a test drive may cure all, just curious.
cheers
