If your only experience was in a "neighborhood environment" it probably wasn't a fair test of the 991 C2S. That said, I think you'd find the 991 GT3 a quite different animal than the 991 C2S. More immediate response from the engine and suspension, shorter gearing, faster shifts, much more engine and exhaust noise, better steering feel. I came from a 997.2 C2S with PDK to the 991 GT3 and there is a significant difference in the level of aggressiveness of the two cars. If you can find a GT3 to buy (which may be why the salesman was trying to talk you out of one), I don't think you'll be disappointed.

If a C2S in sport mode is sluggish and portly then you have a few choices. Try a 458 or a McLaren. After you have driven both of those get back to us with your thoughts. If it is just pure off-the-line grunt you want then get a TTS. Simple. It's amazing how people view cars differently. My 991 has the X-51 and PDK. In sport mode I think it's a rocket ship......./shrug.
