Engine Swap Dates

With the sheer size of the other Stop Sale and Compensation threads (and the hope that engine swap dates will start to be disseminated in the upcoming week...), I thought it might be good to have a consolidated thread to post our long awaited news:

- Country.
- Actual delivery date (Cat A owners) OR most recent scheduled date of delivery prior to the Stop Sale / Stop Drive.
- Date for delivery and / or installation of new engine.

Here's to hoping that this thread starts to populate with good news for all and in quick order.

Good Idea!:thumb up:

Let's hope there will be several posts this week.;)

Agree- we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Also, as those get there engine swaps please post any positive or negative experience with the new motor.

Just a thought. You need to add VIN number to that list. I believe the VIN is more telling than the delivery date (as this can be affected up to 8 weeks due to destination)...

Great idea--which numbers of the VIN are most important? So that owners can post without any apprehension?

Are we supposed to be notified this week or next?

Some have said that PCNA will be given customer specific schedules by Friday, 5/9, at which point, the 2 concierges in Atlanta (and possibly some members of customer care office in MA) will start by calling customers in order. Due to the number of customers, it will likely take until next week to complete.

^Thanks.

My default now is to add a week to whatever is being promised, so that my expectations are managed. Basically, I'm trying to set the bar low, so it can be cleared...

I believe priority will be ORDER date and not vin number. Also, all the information should be in Porsche hands now and we should be getting calls this week. The first called should tell us what the timing will be for the rest of us.

Dont order dates correlate with vins?

I would think that the early orders are the ones with the earliest vins. Meaning the earliest delivered cars are getting addressed first...

I believe a car can be ordered and put into the system but built after others with a later vin number. However, I am not sure.

I would be surprised if it is not delivery date. I can not fathom order dates and VIN. Now, they will match the VINs with the delivery dates - purely my own speculation.

But - they are using delivery(expected) date for the compensation so I would assume they will keep the consistency. So, I had an expected delivery date of 3/14(car at port) so how ever that works out will have a play in to engine replacement. So if another car is at the same port with a delivery date of 3/30 I would expect my car would be done first.

Was at the dealer this weekend and the sales rep mentioned that a car that was halted mid production is now slated for a November delivery. That sounds pretty far out from now. I wonder if that's any indication of how long they think it will take to catch up on making engines.

Mayor -- There are several threads that cover this topic. Most likely, if the car was in some stage of production (and not just an allocation), it will get completed prior to November, as some in that position have heard that that date is merely a placeholder for now.

If that car was halted before entering any stage of physical production, it very likely has been moved from a 2014 to a 2015MY.

As you can tell from the various threads and the insane number of posts, there has been a lot of discussion around these topics--a good number of rumors mixed in also. Hopefully, we get some solid / official info this week.
