They have no intent to lower that anytime soon either. Someone bought the owners car as well at a markup from my understanding.
When I went to sign over mine, sitting at port, the SA said the line is long of those waiting for the swap to pick them up. I personally find it hard to believe since they leave them displayed outside for someone to look at. They've sold one needing a replaced engine, why not the other two? I think any average Joe not knowing about what is going on would go by, hear they could buy the car but not drive it, then walk from making that mistake. As long as these are not drivable, no way in hell they'll get that 20K.

FWIW, they now have 2 white and 1 silver. One white is at the port

I guess that someone forgot to tell them about the "astronomical" depreciation that these cars are supposed to have.

^^you're entitled to your opinion. I think these 2014s, like the 2015s, will be sought after ...

The depreciation you seem so eager to project may yet become appreciation.

Us early adopters, those who've stuck with Porsche, will have a "new" 2014 GT3 with the same engine as the 2015s AT A NICE DISCOUNT. I'd rather take the 2014 GT3 at $6,000+ off MSRP and have essentially an equivalent car to the 2015s. We pay a little less, effectively, to get into a great GT3 ...

I'm in a similar position as the OP, but I am not optimistic about the 2014s being discounted even a little. The right right car at MSRP has my attention, but not at $20K over.

I am actually projecting the opposite...I think that my mom called it "sarcasm". As I said in earlier posts, I think that the 2014's will be fine, especially considering how hard it will be to get a 2015 any time soon.

If someone would sell a nearly no option one at msrp, I'd be interested. It seems like dealers have pretty long lists. When I spec a gt3 on the website, mine is only 133k. I see a lot of dealer cars at 160 msrp. Almost all have PCCBs. I'd love to hear about a dealer with allocations for delivery in 2014 still available.

Give Ron Terpilowski at Checkered Flag Porsche in Virginia Beach a call. They are showing a 2014 in their inventory. The last time I spoke to him about that car I think he said that it was stuck at the port. It is possible that it is still available. MSRP is $132,670.

There is essentially zero supply of the cars now; the dealers are placing (artificially) high prices now to see what type of interest they garner since they can't sell you a car right at the moment.

The dynamics that have contributed to strong sustained 997 GT3 values aren't necessarily in place for the 991.1 GT3 - supply will be short even when sales and deliveries resume since it's a somewhat niche vehicle, but there is zero connection whatsoever with the race cars, and the car's long-term track capabilities are - at best - unproven. Short term values will be impacted by the availability of the 991.1 RS, ultimate production numbers of both 991.1 GT3 and 991.1 GT3 RS, as well as production (if any) of a facelifted 991.2 version of both the GT3 and the RS. Longer term values - who knows? 9A1 in the race cars, hybrid / turbo power in the .2 cars, production of the 960, racing versions of the 960, sunspots, etc.

If new motor motor is not raced ie minimum in cupcars- why would resale values be high down the road? It's a new car now- I get that but what about in 5-6 years from now? Because of what has transpired with the engine issue with the 991 gt3 albeit only 2 fires and the stop sale and the drama thereafter- price of the gt3 mezger is an all time high. Wonder why? Mike ps- please race this new motor- I want to know.

Because it is a GT3, at the end of a life cycle. It's not all about the Mezger block. If that were the case, you'd see the 996tt at higher prices as well.

Do you honestly believe they will be racing the Mezger 5-6 years from now?

All this Mezger vs the 9a1 reminds me of the old days of air cooled vs water cooled. People need to get over it and move on with the end result of higher performance. Sure, they'll be glitches along the way, but in the end it will be be the motor. Porsche isn't going to go backwards. They never have and never will.

^u got it wrong in my interpretation. I want this motor to prove itself. Wouldn't u mind cupcars running this motor? I want to see this happen. If not- what precedent the 991gt3 establishes at this point if there not running the new motor? Mike

Supply/Demand-Supply/Demand-Supply/Demand - Couple of additional points. The car continues to win awards despite being sidelined(unreal). They probably did not even have to replace the engines because of only (2) failures but they did so with an even more reliable one. It is already confirmed they will shorten the 2014/15 991 GT3 run because the reclassified 2014 to 2015 cars are eating up some of the 2015 allocations. Do I think there may only be a short term depreciation with then an increase in appreciation due to lack of supply coupled with the epic reviews when the car hits the road again- yes.
