Awesome car!
It's a Beck 550. Not a Porsche 550.

This actual car was the stand-in for Ralph Lauren's 550 Spyder which wasn't available during the filming of the Discovery Channel special on his collection.

Great little car, tons of fun.. Nothing like flying down the hwy to the airport with luggage in your lap in this thing

Awesome. Didn't know about Beck cars. Looks like he makes a 904 too.

Great CA car (not much rain or need for AC). Becks have a pretty good reputation in that segment

Now THATS an eye for details! It's a 10 year old 92. Has taken a beating as I've worn it literally every day for a decade in any situation.. Bunch of scratches but I like it that way

anyone into bikes? I've been building a custom bike of my own design for over a year now. Had a builder do the chassis based on my own spec where I decided all the parts, down to every detail, color etc. Then worked with a metal fabricator here in California to build the body panels based on designs we drew together.

The inspiration is a streamline locomotive... chassis is a mixture of ducati 999 superbike frame, with monster s2r trellis, kineo single spoke wheels with french quad front rotor braking system... while the aluminum bodywork is a post-modern interpretation of a cafe racer... we are getting close to the finish line after going more than double over budget. But the cool thing about bikes, is that you can pretend you're Jim Glickenhaus or some other billionaire, design your complete fantasy from the ground up... and still not break the bank.

here are some pics...

the inspiration for it all...

Driving in a Beck 550, building your own bike or trashing your 458 Speciale around a track, all good ways to kill time whilst waiting for our GT3s to re-emerge... I did the latter yesterday, see below.

Default That's what I'm doin....

While some drive (really well) on F1 tracks, others build cool bikes and ride along in real cool cars, most of us (including me) are getting distracted at work monitoring Rennlist every 17 seconds, etc. I am also having this done, to complete the red kevlar/CF look and to match the white car. Outside door sills.
