I have a 991 GT3 as well as 2 Scuds. Unfortunately, I have not had the GT3 on the track but I have put about 600 track miles on my blue Scud at COTA. It's a awesome car on the track and on the street. I had a 458, nice car but to "smooth". A regular 430 is good but the Scud is where it's at. These cars are solid. My red Scud has a Underground Racing stage 1 turbo kit on the STOCK motor and Stock clutch. I have 3200 miles on the car and 2500 miles on the build with no issues, 700 whp on 93 pump gas. It's my favorite car to drive, quick, light and just feels good. . Either way, I don't think you will be disappointed.

if you cannot wait for the 991 GT3, then the F430 scuderia is a fun alternative.
Same goes for a McLaren. Both supercars are going for good deals.

go for the best example you can find in either marque for the price you want and dont look back. (until the 991 RS arrives)

I've owned a bunch of Porsches (993S, 996TT, 997S, 997TT) and several Ferraris (360, F430). I now have a 991 and scud. To me, the scud is the ultimate - incredibly raw and a feast for all of the senses. The SF2 tranny must be experienced to be appreciated. I still get giddy every time I drive the scud, something that I stopped feeling when driving any Porsche including my 991. I don't care if the 991 GT3 is faster around a track, there's no way I would replace the scud with it.

have a black 09 Scud i drive regularly. and my 997 GT3.. the scud is fun and sounds like a race car.. but prefer the GT3... also heard the 991 GT3 is best porsche in a long time by several friends that drove theirs before the lockdown..

i have a 15' gT3 coming and the scud will surely leave it's nest.. it's fun but the 2005 feel and twitchy *** is a little much at times.

I have owned every model Ferrari since the 348 excluding an F40, f50,Enzo and any of the V12 GT cars. As said before the Ferrari is exotic , more exciting , attention and thrilling to drive IMO. The porsche is more an everyday sports car. Now the GT3 while maybe not an everyday car is one fantastic machine.

Price point you would trade technology and warranty. However a scuds are bullet prove if well take of. Find one that you can verify or almost no track time. Check the pads, rotors, and clutch at Ferrari dealer (PPI)

Then go drive both. Hard not to own a Ferrari when you can! Good luck there is no wrong choice just opinion

I had a F430, 430 Scud, and currently a 458. Selling the Scud was a mistake. The 458 is a great car but feels like a fast Lexus compared to the raw visceral sensation of the Scud. My GT3 has not arrived so I can't make a comparison between the two.

Only major drawback to Ferrari ownership is they attract unwanted attention. Finding safe parking is usually difficult.

A great source of information is on Ferrarichat.

Put personally if I was going to purchase a new F car it would be a V12 FF or the new Berlinetta. Do you want to spend $300K+ on a new Ferrari or a fully restored AC ACE BRISTOL?

Further you should probably take into account what the new 3RS is going to look like. What are they going to do for power? Increased displacement, finally an H8 engine, finally going to strap forced induction onto it? Will they go backwards and put a sports seven speed in the car? Questions questions questions.
I love how non-Ferrari owners are saying that 430 prices are falling. And falling quickly. Where do you get this information? See my avatar (1/2 of my car is a F1 430!), and I can personally tell you that they are not falling quickly or falling at all. As more and more sport cars become cleansed of character and feel, the 430s become more and more desirable. And when they do fall in prices, it's only because of increase inventory of the 458. It will have nothing-- nothing-- to do with the GT3. Period.

The price of the Scud has stayed flat because there hasn't been a replacement. Now that that the Speciale is here it's just a matter of time before the value of those Scuds get knocked out of the sky like them Patriot Missles.

Further, it's amazing how quickly the 430 fell when the inventories of the 458 ramped up. Just go through every copy of the duPont Registry from December 2009 to December 2010.
Thats when everyone started trading in their 430s for 458s.

But, but that doesn't mean I won't go out and buy one when the price is right. But I much rather have an FF or F12 - I won't start that conversation here, `least Z356 bring up the point about growing older and crap or get off the pot .

Yes because the 458 Speciale are sitting on lots waiting to be purchased

There is currently a 2+ year wait list for them so I think it's a safe bet to say we are 2+ years out from the sky falling. And that's not even factoring in the massive price difference between them.
