weight of stock wheels?
Wondering if there is any appreciable unsprung/rotational mass savings by using aftermarket wheels.
I guess Sharkwerks (edit: Champion wheels) can manufacture some magnesium wheels, there is also the option of carbon revolution wheels but they look ugly IMHO, so does anyone know what the weight of the stock wheels are for starters?
Cheers.

I don't know the actual weight of the new forged wheels. However according to Porsche, at the front they are the same weight as the 997 GT3 wheels despite being 1/2" wider and 1" larger in diameter. At the rear they are 3 lbs lighter per wheel than the ones on the 997 GT3 despite the larger diameter. So if someone knows the weight of the 997 GT3 wheels if necessary you could figure out what the new ones weigh.

I am going to get a second set of wheels for my 991 GT3 and before I decide what to get I also want to know the weights of the OEM wheels. As soon as I get my GT3 back, whenever that is, (I have a December build date) I plan to dismount a front and rear tire so that I can weigh the wheels. I will report the results here when I do that.

well if we go by Mikes comment then the rears are 27lbs and the fronts are 24lbs, which do make sense and certainly not bad but there definitely is some room for improvement!

Had them off the other day. While they didn't go on the scale, I was surprised at how light they felt given the arfing huge size. This was with the tires mounted, so the tires are a big factor.
