Will you or will you not buy or order a new edition sports car?
*For those of you who went in on and bought or put deposits on the 991 GT3, will you or will you not buy or order a similar new version given the circumstances that have developed this year? Referring to any make, any model, not just Porsche.
*For those of you who are still considering or have considered the 991 GT3 but haven't actually gone in on it as of yet, will you or will you not do so in the future?
*For those of you who haven't seriously considered buying the 991 GT3, but are a fan or interested in such cars in the future, will you or will you not do so in the future?

I know the arguments, but I've bought a lot of first year models in 40+ years including 3 from Porsche and haven't ever had significant problems. This was a first.
I'd have to consider the circumstances next time; I won't make a blanket statement and say I'll never buy a first year model again.

This hasn't dampened my enthusiasm for sports cars. It's been my favorite hobby since I was a kid, so yes, I'll be buying more. I have great respect and admiration for the Porsche Turbo, it's a world class car. I think the BMW M4 is a fun little car in a nice market segment.
How I feel about Porsche remains unknown. I suspect all will be fine, and I could come out of this with even more respect for Porsche if they exceed our expectations. I have been a long, long term loyal Porsche buyer for many years so it will take a lot to shake my faith in Porsche. I like BMW as well as a brand, I think they build fun cars at a nice price point.
I also agree with Mike. I've bought many first year models and never had a problem. This is my first. Every car has campaigns, all cars improve over time.
Hope this is what you are asking. If not, just ignore.
If you enjoy cars in any capacity, don't let this event alter your love for the hobby.

To be honest i am perfectly content with my rebuilt 997 chassis and i can live with it. So it will depend on what else will come up to use money for and somfar new car is not the top priority.
Also they have to figure out proper seats, and then aftermarket has to offer 18 or 19 rims instead of 20 inch rims.

I lost interest in owning a new Porsche road car a while ago (sadly). I traditionally avoid first model year cars anyways but there is nothing, new model year or otherwise that would tempt me to ownership at the moment.
The only cars I have wearing a porsche badge at the moment are 996 and 997 Cup cars and I see nothing changing for the time being. There are other cars I would rather have than a 991 (and sadly that includes the GT3....and I have very much driven one). The engine issues have not created a change in my thinking, though do further add to a view point I had already come to.
Maybe things will change in the future, I have no crystal ball. These things ebb and flow.
At the moment the Cups are continuing just fine and I remain very happy with them. An aircooled car may get me back into a road porsche yet though I remain unconvinced how happy I would be driving one.

Interesting responses so far...not too many switches at least on those who have gone into the transaction.
Given the volatility over the past weeks on the stop sale forum, I would have thought it was a bit different--or maybe those have bowed out already.
For me, I'd still go into the deal and wouldn't let it hamper my decision. Tried in the past to make a move on either a new GT3 or RS, but at last moment, didn't seem right decision. This time after pulling the trigger, a memorable set of events has unfolded. Who knows, maybe will be better all around??

My 2012 991C2S 7/mt has been almost perfect in the 31k+ miles I have driven it so far. Other than three services and a new set of tires, all it has needed is gas and oil. I've owned 3 other Porsches, including a 924, 993 and a 911 Cab, which I have now, the 991 has been my best Porsche yet.
