My dealer said May 9th...I don't see how it would have to be sitting at the port completed now and going on to a ship any day. I'm not holding my breath.

My car was due to be completed in late March, the 28th, I think. Neither my dealer nor PCNA has been able to tell me anything, mostly, except that they mostly don't know anything. I have had confirmed, though, that my car has a VIN and will be a 2014. If I'm in the situation as mcsmcs1, and it doesn't show up until August or September, I'm going to be irritated. The issue isn't the delay, even though I can't help but think the resources needed to fix it are busy on the Macan...the issue is the disregard for us customers, who are forced to sit around guessing. This GT3 is my fifth Porsche...if this keeps us, it'll be my last.

My car is status V260, has a 2014 VIN (WP0AC2A90ES183545). Delivery date was 5/6/14. Just sent Tim Quinn an email asking for status update.

If not fully paid and just a deposit maybe they want a confirmation for the final balance and what u plan to do? Sounds fishy to me even u fully paid for it if dealer said that. Mike

As of this Monday my car has a completion date of 4/18 and delivery date of June 6th. Original delivery was April 6th.

Not a snowballs chance in hell my car will be completed in 9 days.

Verified dates with dealer.

I have had a vin since February 14th when production had stopped.

I have come to the conclusion that my dealer should really be selling me my 2014 GT3 at a discount to MSRP. It is a very late 2014 and is still at the factory awaiting an engine swap scheduled for August 29, with delivery middle October. I will be buying last years model while the 2015s begin arriving.

When is the last time anybody bought last year's model at full price? The dealer may respond that PCNA is compensating me $2000 a month to address the issue, but the reality is that the Porsche comp costs the dealer nothing at all. If I do not buy the car, they still need to sell it while 2015s are also for sale, and it isn't reasonable to think that a new 2014 and a new 2015 will both command the same market value.

I simply want them to sell me the 2014 for what they believe a guy off the street would pay, given that it is last years model. The supply constraint does create some higher than normal value for a one year old model, but I am thinking a discount of $5,000 is reasonable.

Anybody have any success along these lines?

My guess is that they would be able to sell it without much of an issue. You are not dealing with a mass produced car here and demand will have a big determination in how much someone will sell the car for. You can certainly try, but don't be surprised if you get no as an answer.

My dealer seems very eager to take my car and put me into a 2015. They will have no problem selling the 2014 at MSRP (or higher). Who gets the $2,000 per month at that point? The dealer or does the factory avoid this expense? I believe your best bet is negotiating with the dealer. Unfortunately there's not much leverage if you want the car.

I think you're right about the comp, Tim.

With regard to dropping a 2014 and getting a 2015 allocation I know we've already discussed ad nauseam getting comp and a warranty extension versus waiting longer for a 1 year newer car so I won't cover that ground again.

But it makes me nervous that dealers are promising 2015 cars for people who are trading in 2014's (on which the dealer is eager to likely make a profit) especially when from everything I've heard Porsche hasn't yet announced 2015 allocations. Despite a few dropouts, my dealer still has a long waiting list, doesn't know how many 2015's they will get, and can't make any promises that they will get enough cars to cover demand. Just to make sure I was doing due diligence I asked about selling back my 2014 at one point, and felt it was too risky. Others may feel differently and of course if you don't really care if you get a car, it doesn't matter that much.

The thing is, there has been so much misinformation at all stages of this disaster about what is going to happen and when that I'd be very leery about trusting that a dealer suddenly knows exactly what is going to happen and can make promises about getting someone a 2015 allocation. Just my $.02.

Mike, over two months ago I asked my dealer about giving him my car and replace it with a 2015. At that time and before I posted they would need to be replaced, I had it on good authority the engines had to be replaced. He told me he would love to have my car but could not assure me a 2015 because he does not have any allocations, had no idea how many he would get and finally he would have to put me on the list behind those already listed for a 2015.

The issue of misinformation is in part Porsche's fault. Had they been more communicative and transparent much of consternation and anger they are witnessing would not exist. That said, I believe the worst is behind them. All they need to do is make sure these cars get to their owners in the time frame they have given or better yet much sooner.

Basically they said they can get me a Turbo/S but they can not get me another GT3. They conveyed that they were not trying to be a ***** but they understood if I did not want my 2014 GT3 that they would give my 100% of my money back and they would have no problem selling it. This is all "supply-demand' economics

And you know PAG has figured all this out. That's why I think there will be few initial 2015 allocations out there (except for the 2014 pushed). People who want (must have) a GT3 will have one choice... the supply of turned back 2014s.
