I can see McLaren doing an all wheel drive four door saloon V12 front engined car someday. But I'm thinking maybe 10 to 15 years on down the road.

Ferrari could have put two more doors on their "FF" and it would not have hurt anything! I don't know if Enzo ever said publicly or privately that his company would never make such a car!

Geez guys...thanks for boosting my morale today. This, on top of the fact that I seem to be the only person on planet Earth opposed to the new mandatory back-up camera law, I feel like putting a gun to my head.

You're not the only one. As a matter of general principle, I oppose most 'mandatory' rulings and other government attempts to protect us from ourselves.

On the other hand, who would consider it a good idea to take the drivers attention from looking around the vehicle while moving to staring at a screen in the dash while reversing? You can't fix stupid. And you cannot legislate it away either.

^^^
I agree & I appreciate the support.

Now, what group can I join or who can I sue to get that stupid law changed to an option as opposed to a mandate?

Sorry for the off topic discussion.

I'd be afraid to park either near other cars at lunch or on errands The automatic would make traffic less of a chore but it would seem frustrating regardless.

We DD our 996GT3 all the time...and by WE I really mean my wife...deal is the first one to leave picks the car, and she normally leaves first...so....I get stuck with the GTI. Have had the car for exactly 3 years, and put 53k miles on it. We always park a little away, end spots preferably, but I certainly don't go way out of the way... Its a car, meant to be driven.

Oh, and you're looking to get a new MP4-12C...too late..

Technically the 650S is an alternative as long as you don't mind paying double the list price of a GT3. Oh, you thought the thread was talking about a REALISTIC replacement for the GT3? I'm with you, so did I......

Incredible sounding car, especially for a turbo.
