McLaren to replace GT3?

I've been reading thru all of these posts where people are discussing other cars(brands) that can replace the GT3. I don't want to insist on the value or performance aspects between the GT3 and other brands.
But it made me curious enough to go have a look at those other brands prices and tried very hard to find 1(one) example that is advertised anywhere in the vicinity of the prices speculated on this forum. NONE! ZERO!
Ferrari 458 at 175K?! Dream on...
F430 Scuderia around 120-130K...more like 190K. So Dream on...
12C...I don't know...I can't imagine a dealer asking a price and then negotiate 30-40K off that. Sounds pretty crazy to me...
Now I see Lamborghini being thrown out there...
So my question is : are all these prices Rennlist SPECIAL or you can actually negotiate for some of these cars in the region of tens of thousand of dollars?!

I know of 2 people that purchased McLaren 12C's in the 170s a few months ago.

I didn't think you can negotiate such a large discount for an exotic, but admittedly I've never tried...
But since you and Mark(mqandil) are saying 12Cs can be had around 170K when the car is advertised at over 200K,I see no reason to doubt that. I guess you just have to walk in,throw a ridiculously low offer and leave...see if the bomb explodes sort to speak.

So lets ponder this. New cars were $250 to $275k loaded. Strike prices in the $150 to $170 for coupes with low miles. New cars are continually being pumped out and new McLaren 650S cars that look like the P1 from the front with styling upgrades are on the boats and production is being ramped up................over supply and demand and time are working for us fellow gear heads!
Alessandro Ribola, the head Sales Manager - think he might manage the whole place actually, of McLaren of San Francisco has really been putting out the welcome mat for me to take the MP4 out for a night of driving - But I feel kind of odd in doing something to that magnitude when I know I will never bite and purchase one New. Maybe from used Stock buy my taste change from day to day. I know I would rather get into an 993 Turbo S before ever buying a McLaren. That is unless someone could sell me an McLaren F1 for oh about $200K... never going to happen - an 90's McLaren F1 is worth a million more than a Bugatti.
Ultimately, I could see "SOME" European's cross shopping used MP4-12Cs with a Brand New, new engined, Porsche GT3 due to cost. But then again how much are the MP4s going for used in Europe? It's that damned extra carrying cost of Luxury Taxes, VATs, and whatever else what country you happen to be living in want to add on top of that. In the USA I can Config a GT3 before Taxes and Destination charges and still get it out the door for less than how much the new 991 Turbo is MSRP`ing at-at the moment which is a bang up deal... if indeed they did fix the boom bang engines catching fire like they were Ferrari 458s!

We have to stop this thread. It's causing me too much competition in the market. I called a dealer this morning to inquire about a car and by the end of the day the salesperson said "we've had an unbelievable amount of interest today! We're going to hold to our asking price"

Are you looking for a mclaren? Apparently there should be a lot of 2012s hitting soon. I called several dealers and they all mentioned expecting cars coming in as pre-trade for the 650s

I think people in general like to act like they have and negotiating skills which lead them to announce crazy low purchase prices. It's a humble brag of sorts, but in my experience, negotiating 10-15% of the advertised price of a car is not doable. The poor 12c may have gotten a bad rap BC of lack of character, but it's a world class car and isn't ab to be given away. Prove me wrong

+1000... I test drove one last year and it was simply amazing. One huge feature not discussed is how amazing its ride is, while providing fantastic handling.

It was an amazing car. Looks great, goes like Hell, handles fantastic and sounds great too.
That being said, I didn't get out of it thinking, I better get my money back for the GT3 and get one of these.
Something to note. In the UAE you can get a 2012( full software upgrade) fully optioned( I really mean fully optioned) being driven for around 5000 km for around 170,000 usd.
Just 20k more than what I paid for my gt3.
Definitely in the price range for me....... Still not doing it

What seems to be killing the 12c is the same thing happening to my m5. The dealers are discounting new 2014 models heavily, a $300k new model will easily be discounted 40k before any negotiating. Several dealers advertise it on their site, and those are spiders.
12c coupes are getting pushed down pretty hard. It could be a worthwhile replacement.

Fantastic daily drive for the money.
I'm sure it can handle a few track weekends
I spoke to an owner and after the initial quality issues he had none and for him the car hold up OK on cooler European track days.
