McLaren to replace GT3?

Funny as I was thinking the same thing. My winter DD is a S7 and was thinking about changing and getting cab too. At the end of the day though, any 911 is different than almost any sedan.

I had an Audi R8 V10 Spyder that I drove for 5 months before pulling it to my Porsche dealer last July and trading it in for a GT3. And prior to that a 997.2 turbo. I was not overwhelmed by the Audi. Great gated manual- that you can not argue. I just found it kind of boring. The car just kind of drove itself and the steering is a bit numb. and after having a 997.2 Turbo it certainly was not as fast.
Do not get me wrong because it is a great car but I am just being objective. And if I offend any one with this next comment, I apologize, in advance I am in my mid-40s and I just felt that it is an older man's car. I even had a Sales guy at the Audi dealer tell me the car was made to sort of target the Mercedes SL500 client-type. But to each their own.

Interesting I think the 911 especially the turbo is the most older man car around but I am 54 and own one so I guess that works out. I also think most Mercedes are chick cars and I own one of those too. Not sure what that says.

I shopped pretty hard and I had all the dealers bow out at 65k off. They all didn't want to go lower. Half of them, there aren't many, would go more than 55k.
I really want one but the attention bothers me, I can drive it everyday like a turbo s cab. Problem is there aren't many turbo s cabs unless you want a yellow one.

I test drove the mclaren some time ago. The visibility is great and the car feels agile and tight among narrow roads. Being a tc engine, you just ride on the torque at low 2-3k rpm when you are nicely cruising and the cabin is not too noisy. When you put the powertrain to race, you can still feel the throttle response having a tiny bit of lag but it doesnt really bother you much. The suspension is really state of the art, smoothing out the roads despite the very stiff carbon chasis and you literally dont have to slow down for speed bumps. I would say it is more daily driveable than a 458 or lambo. It is a unique product, you can have this as a supercar next to your dd sedan/suv/coupe, or a 2nd supercar next to your ferrari/lambo/gt3. If I run out of patience for my gt3 i would definitely consider one.

I meant to say I got a 430 Scuderia. I had brought this up a few weeks ago (https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3/...-scuderia.html) and decided to go for it. I've had it for 3 weeks now and I can tell you it's one amazing machine. I've never driven the 991 or any other GT3, but I've driven the MP4 and the 458 at Las Vegas Exotics Racing and I found the 458 to be much more thrilling. After I got my 430 Scuderia, I drove it back to back against the 458 (friend has one) and I can tell you the Scud is the more raw/emotional one. So what I'm saying is, in terms of driving excitement, I feel Scud > 458 > MP4.
