New GT3 problems less than C7 Vette
#16
The point, as I mentioned in my original post, was to not to bash the C7 but to keep the GT3's problems in perspective. To some degree I was hoping that it would stop some of the gnashing of teeth over the GT3 issues.
But given some people distortion's of my remarks in their replies, I can see that I was way too optimistic.

If it's fixable it's not a problem, it's just a project that hasn't been completed yet.
If it's not fixable it's not a problem, it's just a new reality that hasn't been accepted yet.
Therefore, this episode with the GT3 is not a problem ... and I'd walk on my tongue through broken glass for a 991 GT3 with a replacement motor.
Corvette? Not.

The perspective is the issue. A 60k car with fit and finish or different issues is still not on par with cam sensor and engine failure to car fire issue to most people. Most here looked right over the exploding pressure plates on the 997.2 RS etc. But engine failure and car fire are not on the same level contextually.
This is comparable to the early C6 Corvettes blowing up left and right though. Just a generation removed.
It's good to see that Porsche will not make 23k per car for at least 800 vehicles. Because of their hubris and denial of peril they left prior customers with in regards to the coolant lines.

Mike, thanks for noticing the effort. To some degree it reminds me of the saying "that no good deed goes unpunished".
BTW, I am not a poser. I have had a GT3 on order since last summer and although I do not currently own a Corvette, I have owned 6 over the years.
