So Who's Cancelled?
#31
I am close to canceling my GT3, car was completed and at port in Germany since 1/27. The original expected delivery was December. Best case is it gets to NY in no-less then 90 days. I am looking into a Turbo S. I pre traded my car and a return on my deposit means I lose my sales tax credit. I beleive PCNA should be offering significant discounts on any 14 model, considering the 15 models will be out shortly after the GT3 issues is rectified, most of us will miss the driving season, and in my case lose significant money with a refund of the deposit.

I sold one of my cars last month in anticipation of being able to use the GT3 as my daily. The dough has been sitting with that other dealer since then and my trade in tax credit is about to expire. I'm looking at getting a turbo cab and pushing my build to a '15 PTS.

My dealer have called me twice before the stop sale to offer me a built date and I've refused both. I didn't want a first year 991 gt3. I'm first on list for a 2015 MY GT3. Might have been a smart decision after all this drama I guess.

Thanks much. Not the track weapon that I was hoping for in the GT3 so I had to reset expectations... however I had a 2012 991S PDK and enjoyed it very much. Figured this car was a bit more special and the manual adds a nice change from my pdk. Unsure about the power kit benefit though? I haven't really gotten into it yet but my pdk car "felt" faster - likely due to the rapid pdk shifts.

As I posted in the stop sale thread, I cancelled my late March build on Monday after having put my deposit down in Sept 2012. It had come readily apparent that I would not have the GT3 for this years track season which was my main interest in purchasing the car. I am planning to try a ZO7 for next years season. I did move my deposit to an RS to see what that turns out like. I sold my GT3RS this week as I was able to sell it for $26K more than I bought it for a little over 2 years ago. So, in a complete right turn for me, I bought a 2010 Viper ACR and I will track that this year. I'm having Belanger headers and the Mopar ACR-X ECU installed which will bring the car up to 610hp/580tq at the wheel. The regular ACR is already 13 sec faster around the Ring than the 991 GT3 (7:12 vs 7:25), but with the upgrades the car will move closer to the ACR-X's time of 7:03.
So far I'm loving the driving experience--it's very raw like my CGT and FGT. It's been like moving from doing surgery with a scalpel (GT3RS) to a sledgehammer. It's a tremendous amount of fun.
As I stated in my other post, I wish those that have remained in the game the best of luck. However, I can't help but feel 2014 GT3's will be at a resale disadvantage in the future. I only reference what I found when shopping for CGT's in that 2004's, despite very small issues with the clutch and a few other things that Porsche rectified immediately, have had a shadow cast on them in terms of desirability and they have historically brought less money. Not exactly an apples to apples analogy, but just my perception.

430HP with the powerkit and 7MT on the C2S which is 3,075 lb curb weight. That's not too shabby!

RS deposit remains. No downside now and plenty of time to see how current situation shakes out and whether Porsche actually decides to put motor into race duty. Remain highly skeptical on the latter but would love to be proved wrong.

I'm officially out. Pick up my new c2s on Saturday. Its been a fun ride guys. I'll explore gt3 options after the dust settles. I wish everyone the best. You all deserve a good finish to this saga.
My dealer was fabulous to deal with. I'm sure the car I ordered will make someone very happy.

Thanks all. Yeah... I'm really excited. I just felt like I was losing too much sleep over this. It may end up all being OK, but I wasn't willing to roll the dice.
Besides this is my first p car and I think maybe this is a better start. I need something to grow in to, right?

I'm really starting to think giving up your GT3 would be a big mistake. Don't let your car go unless you have it in writing you will be getting a replacement. This is the baddest car you can buy for the money and just think you have one or are getting one.
